Things are winding down for the year. Senior Concert Band and the Jazz Band will play in the cafeteria during their rehearsal time (7:30 to 8:30) this week, and we'll start collecting music, instruments, etc. next week. If you have any extra or old SHSS Band books, or spare instruments, please bring them in by June 19th. Congratulations on an excellent year and have a fun-filled summer! Best wishes to our Grade 12's as they head off in new directions!

Castlegar’s high school band earns high marks at festival - Castlegar News Stanley Humphries Secondary School jazz and concert bands attended the Con Brio Festival in Whistler

Congratulations to the Band 8's who received outstanding recognition in the Kootenay Festival of the Arts a few weeks ago and to the Senior Concert and Jazz Bands for reaching GOLD (Superior) at the Con Brio Music Festival this last weekend! Our next concert is the SHSS Showcase from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Activity Room.

The SHSS Concert and Jazz Bands are off to Sun Peaks to attend the Con Brio Music Festival in April. We are doing a fundraiser in conjunction with Fisherman's Market in Nelson. If you'd like to support our trip and desire quality chicken and fish products, check out the flyer and place the order by email. Please ensure you can pick up and pay for your order on March 2nd, between 3 and 5 p.m. Thanks for your support!

Tonight! SHSS Music students perform at 7:00 p.m. in the Activity Room. Groups performing are the Jazz Combo, Jazz Band, Senior Concert Band, and the Grade 8 Concert Band.

Final Concert this Thursday (June 9th) as part of the SHSS Student Showcase Event. Come see our your musicians, LIVE, in the Activity Room. 5:30 p.m. Senior Concert Band; 6:00 Grade 8 Band; 6:20 Jazz Band; 6:40 Jazz Combo. Free admission!
