This stunning highway runs through two National Parks connecting Lake Louise with Jasper. Make sure to allow a full day to enjoy the views!

Just a heads up, Grassi Lakes trail has just been closed by Alberta Parks due to Rockfall.
The closure is in effect as of June 10th, 2026 and there is currently no set reopening date. This is following the rockfall which occurred on June 1st and closed Smith Dorrien Trail. The area has become more unstable after heavy rainfall.
Both the upper Grassi Lakes trail, interpretive trail and reclaimer trail are affected.
Very happy to have snuck this hike in on June 8th, 2026.
Remember to always check trail status before heading out!
