My name is Kirsten. Together with my husband Tom, I own and operate Sweet Currant Video & Photo and Carbon Life Media, two Calgary based video and photo services.
Our company vision has always been to do meaningful work. Whether it is to capture images of people’s most precious life moments through our family and wedding brand Sweet Currant Video & Photo, or to support the growth of companies whose values and mission we stand behind through Carbon Life Media, it has been our hope and dream to contribute to the world positively through our work.
When we saw Jorie’s mission to raise funds for Pediatric Cancer Research, it immediately struck a cord with us. Here was an opportunity to support a person taking a chance on a big idea… that she could “trade up” enough to make a difference in the lives of children and families going through something incredibly difficult.
As a parent of two young children, her story of Nicolas and his journey through cancer treatment touched my heart. While my children are healthy, our family like many others has also been touched by cancer. Everyday I am so grateful for the health that we have and that cancer treatments have advanced.
Currently our trade is up for offer (please see the details in the link below), and I would invite anyone who is interested to reach out to us with any questions, ideas, or offers on how to keep this train chugging along. Earlier this fall we had the pleasure of working with Katrina & Lee, who came all the way from New York to get married at the gorgeous Lake Louise Chateau. Needless to say their wedding was stunning.
We want our films to take people on a journey, so we're constantly trying to improve our storytelling. This film is an example of how far we've come and the direction we're heading in. Super excited about our next steps in 2019!
