Ahh…. this spruce tip tea tasted as lovely as it looks. So grateful to have connected with some new .sinc colleagues today on this Canada’s first National Forest Therapy Day!
We gathered to celebrate and experience the new official Forest Bathing trail at the Inglewood bird sanctuary in partnership with and to grow in community together.
I’ve had such a busy start to this spring season as I finish off my own guide training so I was extra grateful for the time to slow down and reconnect.
Inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin Yoku, Forest Bathing helps us all connect more with our senses, with nature, and ultimately ourselves.
is the theme for this first annual so why not some fun and meet a tree near you?!
See you in the trees. 🌳✨

We made it! Happy Beltane! 🎊
Beltane marks the light half of the year and it’s a celebration of spring’s new energy! A Celtic holiday long associated with a connection between people and the natural world, it’s a season that invites active participation and play rather than observation.
✨
This is the time to stop planning and start creating, celebrating, and stepping fully into what is beginning to take shape for you.
👊
It’s also when growth and connection are no longer hidden underground or just beginning to emerge, it’s visible, active, and impossible to ignore. Finally, warmth, movement, attraction, and vitality are returning to the land in full force.
🌱
So it seemed fitting that this beautiful little crocus I’ve been watching for weeks on one of my daily walk spots finally popped up today! Wishing everyone joy and celebration in your day as we cast off the darkness and celebrate the light!

Spring held off winter just long enough for the first Wednesday walk of the spring Good Grief On this Earth day, the theme for our walk was:
✨CONNECTION ✨
🫶We are connected to each other as we walk these trails
together and as we navigate our own unique grief journeys.
🌱We can build on our connection to nature as we move
through the park; engaging with our senses, appreciating the beauty, finding meaning in the cycles, experiencing our emotions and extending compassion to nature and ourselves.
Consider:
• What are your connections to this place?
• How are you connected to nature as a whole?
• Who are you connected to that can help you on this journey?
• Where can we find further connections?
• How can you build on your connections?

The only thing I forgot was the sunscreen!
☀️
Full heart and a bit of a burnt nose after a delightful morning practicing virtual guiding with my cohort!
🌲
Forest Tea was a delightful way to close our two hours together slowing down, tuning in, and reconnecting with nature and ourselves.
🥰
My colourful set up drew an exquisite monarch butterfly fresh off its migration north and the most gorgeous bumblebee the size of my thumb!
Spring is trying!!
🐝
I can’t wait to walk with you soon!

Lessons from the trees today:
When I noticed the remnants of freezing rain on the grey branches this morning, it reminded me that hard exteriors can protect us too. The ensconced branches shared a story with me that the hardness of our grief or our pain can be there for a time to shelter our hearts, to protect us until we feel safe to feel, to grow.
🌱 Then when we are ready, sometimes even before we know it, the melt begins and all the colours come out and the ice melts and hope and growth can come back.
Happy spring equinox friends! ✨
We made it. This is a beautiful halfway point where the Earth offers us equal amounts of daylight and night despite the still falling snow here in Alberta, we know spring is coming. I was so grateful to embrace this midpoint and be invited by the lovely Anne of on one of her beautifully grounding nature connection walks. We explored the Siksikaitsitapi Medicine Wheel & Stone Labyrinth Intermitnet lake of Nose Hill and we got connected grounded and in communitywith each other. As I am immersed in my own forest guide training these days it was a true delight to be led by somebody else in nature, it truly felt like a refuge thank you Anne. I look forward to returning the gift soon.
Happy Equinox everyone. ✨🌱

Have you ever felt mothered by a tree? 🌲
I have been lucky enough to have felt cared for by a tree a few times in my life, but today was perhaps the most powerful of them all.
🫶
We are not the only beings on this earth and there is so much love and kindness to feel when we allow ourselves to step through the threshold, to leave the tamed world, and to ley our hearts dance in liminality to sink into the in-between.
💫
I can’t wait to guide you there.

It wasn’t just a strong sticker game at the women’s health symposium yesterday. So much great information shared about everything from hormones and menopause to osteoporosis and adhd. Check out my stories for links. It was a great day to be in the company of women. Keep an eye on the symposium page as all the presentations will be posted on their website soon!

One of the exercises I’m exploring this week in training is an invitation in co-emergence, in trust with the non-human world around us. In between a busy Saturday of shuttling kids, I found 10 minutes to sit and breathe with this tree that stopped me in my tracks. Just thinking of everything it has seen and witnessed, and what we can learn from its journey. 🫶🌳❤️
