I wanted this piece to feel like a gentle world that still believes in wonder, where even the smallest creatures carry light with them wherever they go āœØāœØļø

I keep returning to layers — paper, texture, tiny details that tell a story. There’s something steady about letting each piece find its place.

This one grew gently in that space šŸ„ āœØļø

Three years ago today, my handmade art was showcased publicly, and for the first time, I wrote about how my work was born out of pain. That part hasn’t changed. What has changed is everything that followed.
Since then, I’ve shown up. Again and again.

I took my work out of my small bedroom and into the world. I packed pieces carefully, stood at markets, hung them on walls, spoke to strangers, and smiled when my body wanted to fold inward.
I let Oridea Creates exist outside of me, even when that felt terrifying.

There were moments of visibility. Shows. Markets. Kind words. Recognition.
And then there was quiet. Long stretches of it.

I’m not where I thought I would be.
Not financially. Not emotionally. Not creatively in the way I once imagined.
And some days, grief stings very deeply.

When I say I’m not where I thought I’d be, what I really mean is this: I’m doing all of this while holding something heavy that never gets put down. The heavy weight doesn’t stop the work—but it does slow it, soften it, and make every step forward cost more than it might for someone else.

Oridea Creates isn’t a finished story. It’s still becoming.

And that, in itself, feels worth honoring.

For the majority of this past year, I stopped creating. On the surface, it may look like silence, but beneath—the way an iceberg hides most of its mass under water—there is still movement, still weight, still the quiet work of holding. This new paper piece reminds me of that. The whale, the stars, the folded paper boats—small signs of life around something vast and layered that I am living with.

I chose to share this piece because it feels honest to where I am — paused, waiting, but still carrying so much underneath.

New Piece āœØļø Cozy Harvest
Mixed media | Paper, pen, colored pencils & acrylic markers

Yes, summer is just around the corner—but my heart always drifts back to autumn. There’s something about the woodland stillness, the warm jars on the shelf, and the hush of golden light that grounds me.

This little mouse kitchen is a love letter to ritual, comfort, and quiet moments. A place where stories steep like tea and peace lives in the smallest things—crackling fire, folded linens, and cinnamon in the air.

Every hand-cut element in this piece is a way of coming home.

I had the pleasure of leading a paper art workshop with today.

Together, we created vibrant vase collages using mixed media techniques. It was a meaningful opportunity to share creativity, connection, and self-expression through paper art.

If you’re looking for a meaningful, hands-on art experience—whether for yourself, a small group, or a special event—I offer private and small group paper art classes tailored to all skill levels. Each session is relaxing, fun, and guided with care.
