Snaps are better. Does that mean I hate hook/loop closures? Nope, I've used them myself. It means that it's hard to find good quality hook/loop that doesn't curl or snag and that's sturdy enough that babies can't rip it off easily. That's why we only carry Thirsties hook/loop. It's proven itself durable, even after hundreds of washes and it's now an option you can find in our web store on the Duo Wraps.

If you're new to cloth diapers you've probably heard about pocket diapers. They are adjustable to fit babies as they grow, feature a pocket where you add absorbency into a waterproof shell, are easy to wash and readily available.

Here at Cloth Diaper Kids we stock several brands of pocket diapers for you to choose from:

✅ AMP: If you're looking for a Canadian-made option.

✅ Thirsties: If you're looking for a made in the USA option, want h**p/cotton absorbency or are looking for a pocket diaper with either stay dry microfleece or organic cotton next to the skin.

✅ Kinder: If you want extended size adjustability (from 7-60lbs) with a stay dry interior.

✅ Rumparooz: If you're looking for a generously sized pocket diaper with internal leak-proof double gussets and absorbency choices that include microfiber, bamboo or h**p.

What's your go-to pocket diaper?

Do you need to pre-wash new diapers?

If they are brand new yes. Synthetic fabrics (diapers covers, microfiber, AWJ or microfleece) one wash is enough.

Natural fabrics - cotton prefolds or flats, some bamboo and h**p for sure needs a few washes to reach full absorbency.

BUT you can wash once and start using them on baby - keeping in mind that they'll be fully absorbent after the first few washes.

And don't be surprised at some shrinkage from natural fabrics too. It's normal and expected especially in prefolds and flats.
