Last sledding weekend was everything… and then some. After literally ripping my hamstring clean off, all I could think about was getting back on my sled. No dramatic “you’re cleared” moment. Just me, stubborn as ever, listening to my body (for once), pretending to be patient, and trusting the work I’ve put in. Being back out there was unreal. I don’t take a single turn for granted anymore. I feel so lucky just to be able to do this sport at all. And then finally getting into a zone in Blue River! I’ve been dreaming and wanting to riding for THREE years? That made it even sweeter. It was everything I imagined and more! Officially my favourite zone ever! Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it for my body healing, for the strength slowly coming back, and for the incredible CREW I get to share it with. Thank you to my partner in crime who got into sledding just for me and is absolutely killing it 🤍 And to @smalltowndentsidekid78, I’m so glad our paths crossed 🫶thank you for being such a solid friend and rider. @mediumtowndentsidekid, it was so awesome finally meeting you! I love chasing lines with you guys, pushing each other, laughing through the stucks, and knowing we always have each other’s backs. Your support means more than you know. I snapped this back in 2020, when downtown felt like a movie set zero cars, zero people, just neon and silence. I was literally standing in the middle of the road (safely) lining up this long exposure when a couple of police officers pulled up to see what kind of trouble I was getting into. 😂 Instead of shutting me down, they stuck around, made sure everything was safe, and actually helped me time capture the best light trails. Didn’t expect to end up with creative partners 🫶 in uniform that night but here we are.
