Well, as my sleep data below shows, while my sleep time and quality is still low, it is improving daily - Day by day this too will come.
As for my morning racewalk, it was a nice and easy recovery effort - All part of also working on making the best of my 'easy' days.

After consultation with the provincial sleep clinic (Halifax), I have finally begun addressing my poor sleep hygiene and adjusting my circadian sleep cycle.
Among five other strategies, spending 1-2 hours near the 10,000 Lux Light Therapy lamp instead of going to bed early.
Only time will tell if these 5 strategies aid in my success to improve upon my sleep routine - I am very committed to making this work and that is a big part of this.
Goodbye to the 2-3 hour sleep nights Fingers crossed 🤞 🤞

Well, while a little too fast, I completed 9kms in 1:06:06 with an average pace of 7:20/km and an Avg HR of 134 bpm - a little too high for now so I need to backoff on the pace/effort.
Off to a good one day start as I am all in with working with the sleep clinic on getting my circadian sleep cycle back to 'normal'. More on that in a separate post.

Easy, recovery racewalk day...
Just that! Out easy - finished easy!
This week of training is showing me that I need to do at least 3 more weeks of mileage build up to develop my strength - All before getting into intervals and harder, pace focused, sessions.
And I look forward to this build-up........

Tempo session a success...
Yes, I decided to just see where my legs were at and the effort did not disappoint!
I completed a tempo 6km in 42:52 with an average pace of 7:08/km and an AVG HR of 128 bpm. The racewalk felt fast at the start at 7:18 for the first kilometer but things settled well, felt great form-wise, and each kilometer actually got quicker. Hmmm!
I will now be settling down for a number of days as I slow the pace, build a base / strength while very slowly increasing the weekly mileage.

Well, first, it was a solid night's sleep.
Second, as I review my HRV 'trend' I am in the 'balanced' range and feeling good - FYI, I do not follow daily stats anymore but look at my trend.
And, third, with today being an easy, recovery, racewalk,
my goal was just that, to make sure my easy days are, in fact, easy and to have fun!!!
Overall, feeling great!

First day, week two, of my 'Racewalking Reset'...
A 8km progression session was on tap. With the first kilometer all uphill, it was a tough start.
I covered the rolling roads in 1:00:57 with an average pace of 7:39/km and an Avg HR of 118 bpm.
Overall, while a slow uphill start, the kilometers click by quickly going from 8:07 for the first kilometer to 6:59 for the last kilometer and I am pleased - knowing I have a long way to go!

Out for a slow, but not easy, 6km just before the torrential rain hit - Good timing...
After yesterday's tempo effort it was out this morning on tired legs. I completed 6kms in 46:40 at an average pace of 7:46/km with an Avg HR of 109 bpm.
I am looking forward to tomorrow's day off from racewalking before 'slightly' increasing my mileage this upcoming week.

Out at 4:40am to get my 8k tempo effort in before heading to the doctor for an early appointment addressing my worsening Vertigo-like problem.
I covered 8k in 59:05, averaging 7:23/km with an Avg HR of 125bpm. It was a tough effort but I do have to say that I think I found a good technique that I am happy with - At this time!

After a good 7 hour sleep last night it was out the door at 5am for an easy 6k.
I felt refreshed, recovered, and, with headlamp and reflective vest on, I had a smooth effort with good form.
