A rainy 20km this morning. I’m finding that as I add layers to deal with the weather, my heart rate drifts beyond where I would normally see it for a given effort. It’s important to understand that performance metrics can vary like this and it DOES NOT mean loss of fitness. Wearing two shirts and a jacket on a rainy day is no different than running in 30 degrees in July. The conditions matter! Stay safe!

A rainy day for my first official half-marathon. This race represents so much. I had a lot of help and I did a lot of work - not just on running. Please know that you CAN overcome difficult times in your life. You can persevere through darkness.
Shout out to the race organizers and volunteers. Highly recommend the Prince Edward Island Marathon! They have something for every level of racer!
Extra shout out to the Striders and the cheers! It meant a lot hearing my name through my headphones! ❤️

First race of the weekend. A controlled 5km with a goal to prime the legs for the half marathon and avoid injury. The course was wet but flat and the temperature was favourable. Good for 12th overall and 2nd in my division. A successful run for me 🙂
