๐จ๐ฆ Happy Canada Day! ๐จ๐ฆ
Today, we celebrate the diverse and vibrant nation that Canada has become, a land of opportunity for many new immigrants. As we honour the progress and growth of this great country, we also pause to recognize and reflect on the painful history and injustices faced by Indigenous peoples, whose land we now call home.
At Mayes Immigration, we are committed to acknowledging this history and working towards a future that respects and honours Indigenous communities. As we continue to welcome new immigrants, we strive to build a more inclusive and equitable society for all.
Let's celebrate Canada's diversity and take steps toward reconciliation together.

๐ข Exciting Update from IRCC! ๐ข
We're thrilled to announce new legislation that expands Canadian citizenship by descent beyond the first generation. Here's what this means:
๐จ๐ฆ Individuals born abroad to Canadian parents (who were also born abroad) with strong ties to Canada will now be eligible for citizenship.
๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ Children born abroad and adopted by Canadian parents (who were also born abroad) can now directly receive citizenship.
๐ Citizenship will be restored for "Lost Canadians," their descendants, and anyone born abroad to Canadian parents in the second or later generations prior to this legislation.
