We are a young and dedicated group offering financial and moral support to children with illnesses via the promotion of public fund drives and events aimed at raising awareness in our community of the plight of those less fortunate among us. Dr.Cecelio Eck Passes Away
Our newsroom has confirmed that beloved pediatrician Dr. Cecelio Eck passed away this morning at 11:10am. He had recently been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit.
Dr. Eck was widely known across Belize for his decades of service to children and families, earning a reputation as one of the country’s most trusted and compassionate pediatricians. He practiced medicine for roughly 28 years, with nearly two decades dedicated specifically to pediatrics, and also worked alongside organizations such as Friends of Pediatrics and World Pediatrics.
His passing follows a long and public battle with stage four cancer, which he revealed in 2024 after doctors discovered the disease had spread to multiple organs. Earlier this year, he had shared that the cancer had returned despite surgery and treatment.
