Human Resource professionals must stop being footnotes in strategic business decisions and become key drivers of organizational success.
This was the message delivered by Louis Sibanda, Head of Partnerships at Nativus Limited, during the Strategic HR Gala Dinner, where he presented on the economic outlook and the evolving role of HR in business.
Sibanda challenged HR leaders to innovate and align their functions more closely with business objectives, emphasizing that HR must play a central role in shaping strategy, driving productivity, and supporting organizational growth.
He highlighted the importance of leveraging technology to unlock economic opportunities and improve efficiency. However, he cautioned that technological advancement must be balanced with deliberate investment in people, ensuring employees are adequately trained and prepared for the jobs of the future.
According to Sibanda, the workplace is changing rapidly, and employers are increasingly focused on an individual's ability to deliver results rather than solely on qualifications or years of experience. He noted that practical skills, adaptability, and performance are becoming the most valuable assets in today's labour market.

Last night, HR professionals, business leaders, and distinguished guests gathered for an evening of learning, networking, and celebration during the Gala Dinner of the 9th Strategic HR Conference.
The event was officiated by Dr. Farzam Kamalabadi, Presidential Envoy on Economic Affairs and President of Future Trends, who shared valuable insights on global economic trends and opportunities. Delegates also benefited from an engaging address by Louis Sibanda on the economic outlook and the future of business and workforce development.

He noted that modern HR is no longer just about administration, but about delivering value through insights, improving employee experiences, and enabling smarter workforce planning. With the power of digital tools, HR leaders are better positioned to influence business strategy, enhance productivity, and create competitive advantage.
