1. Use a spirit level to check your floor & wall levels(wall plastering) ensure your switches & sockets are straight...and such like details..
2. Use your measuring tape to check the practicality of the proposed dimensions...
In doing so, you avoid the whole fingerpointing game..(The carpenter will tell you-"no, the tile/floor wasnt straight", the tiler would have told you, "the walls were not straight"..even the builder might even say the soil is bad etc...
