I was having a deep conversation with my husband on our little staycation the other day, and he told me I take life too casually. Maybe I do.

But I told him I refuse to keep postponing life, missing out on the things that make me smile, or constantly waiting for the “right time” to enjoy myself.

I have a mother and sister who believe strongly in lay-buying things and getting them later. I, on the other hand, am the complete opposite. If I want something, and I am able to afford it, I would rather get it and enjoy it now. Or just let it go.

I’m in my late thirties, and one thing life has taught me is to go where there is joy. When things get overwhelming, I pack my bags, disappear for a few days, reset and come back with a lighter heart. If something makes me happy, I allow myself to enjoy it.

Life is already serious enough. Why should we make every little aspect of it serious too? Sometimes we get so busy existing that we forget to actually live.

Right now, I’m back home with a million pictures, beautiful memories, a very full heart and an empty bank account. Am I complaining? Not at all. Maybe I do take life too casually. Or maybe I have simply learnt not to take life itself for granted. ❤️

Well, the truth is that they are acting the age the trauma YOU just triggered happened. You took them right back there….

Just in case nobody has told you this yet this year, let me remind you:

Somewhere, someone is inspired by the way you have kept going. Someone is learning from your courage. Someone admires the way you keep putting one foot in front of the other. Someone is looking at your story and finding the strength to continue with theirs.

You may not see the impact of your journey because we rarely get to see the lives we touch simply by surviving, growing, and refusing to give up. You are someone’s reminder that it is possible to keep going. You are a hero in someone’s story, even if you don’t feel like one in your own. So, keep moving. Keep becoming. Keep trusting the process.

25 has always been my lucky number. Last month, on this very day, I celebrated my birthday. Today, I get to celebrate not one, but two amazing people in my life: my niece, Basha, and my bestie, Jess. ❤️

These two have so much in common, especially in the way they both touch my life and bring so much joy into it.

Basha brings so much lightness, especially on those heavy days. She is like that little angel sent to give you a hug, make you smile, and remind you that everything will be okay. My little prayer warrior, who never says no to an opportunity to pray. And just like me, she is a big fan of dressing up and trying out fancy new food spots. Imagine that at her age! Happy birthday, my Dooblybun. May you always remain the beautiful, joyful soul that you are.

Then there is Jessica, my biggest supporter and my safe place. This lady has been there for some of the most important moments in my life, and I treasure her presence more than words can express. I am so grateful for your friendship, your love, and the way you always show up for me.

I pray that God continues to bless you abundantly and that this new chapter brings you everything your heart desires.Happy birthday, my sister from another mother.

I scrolled through my socials the other day, and almost every post I came across was from someone going through the most. Actors,musicians, people in corporate, entrepreneurs. People from every industry and every walk of life.

We live in a completely different era now, where we don’t always have to pretend that everything is perfect. And honestly, I love that about this era. People are opening up about what they are going through, and somehow, there is comfort in knowing that you are not alone.

Sometimes, knowing that someone else is also figuring things out, struggling, healing, starting over or simply trying to make it through the day can make your own journey feel a little less lonely.

Maybe that is one beautiful thing about being more open about life. We realise that behind the smiles, the achievements and the seemingly perfect lives, we are all human. And sometimes, knowing that you are not alone is enough to keep you going.

It is well dear friends! Let’s keep the faith.

Today’s readings speak to anyone who has ever looked at another person’s life and wondered:

“Lord, when will it be my turn?”

They speak to the person waiting for a job, waiting for marriage to improve,for financial stability,healing, waiting for a breakthrough, or simply wondering why someone else seems to be moving ahead while they are still standing in the same place.

The readings do not give us a simple answer to when God will act. They invite us to trust who God is while we wait. Have faith dear friend, trust His timing.

I don’t know about you, but sometimes I feel like we spend far too much of our lives trying to appear impressive.

Even our conversations have become performances. The books we read must teach us something. The events we attend must add value. Everything has to demonstrate growth, intelligence or ambition. Don’t get me wrong. Self improvement matters. But I think we sometimes overdo it and forget the simple pleasures of being alive.

A lady on TikTok once said, “We have turned our entire existence into a CV.” It is okay to watch a silly movie with no life lesson. To have a ridiculous conversation that adds nothing to your résumé. To share a funny meme or post on social media. To laugh, rest, be unproductive and simply enjoy being human.

There are places to sell yourself and demonstrate competence. But life cannot be one continuous interview.Your career is important, but it was never meant to consume your entire identity. Sometimes, put down the CV. Take off the mask. Stop performing and start living. Because there is a difference between building a life that looks impressive and actually living a life that feels meaningful.
