Tolbunt Polish

The Tolbunt Polish is a light, soft feathered pure breed, they are a Polish chicken but the color pattern is Tolbunt hence the name. They are recognized by their large crests and beautiful Tolbunt patterning. This is a pattern of brown, black and white, this is a laced mottled pattern. They are a calm docile bird ideal for confinement or urban situations. The hens can be quite chatty and the roosters can be friendly. Children love to hold Polish chickens and play with their hair. They can make great companions. Need to add some character and spice to your flock, this is the breed. We call them the rock and roll chickens, punk rock or glamor girls! So beautiful and captivating like a work of art. All your neighbors will be envious of their beauty.

When a hen is broody, it means something — instinct or hormones — have triggered a response in the bird making her want to stop laying, hatch the eggs she already laid and raise chicks, regardless of whether those eggs have been fertilized by a rooster.

POULTRY VACCINE DAY!

°ILT
Infectious laryngotracheitis (ILT) is an economically important respiratory disease of poultry. This highly contagious disease is caused by Gallid alpha herpesvirus type 1 (GaHV-1), commonly known as infectious laryngotracheitis virus (ILTV). The virus can be easily transmitted by infected birds and fomites. Lax biosecurity, transportation of infected birds, and spread of contaminated litter facilitates spread of the virus. Clinical signs of respiratory disease are not pathognomonic. Diagnosis is by real-time PCR and histopathology . Implementation of biosecurity is necessary for prevention, but vaccination is commonly used for control of the disease in endemic regions worldwide.

°MAREK'S
Marek's disease is one of the most ubiquitous avian infections; it is identified in chicken flocks worldwide. Every flock, except for those maintained under strict pathogen-free conditions, is presumed to be infected. Although clinical disease is not always apparent in infected flocks, a subclinical decrease in growth rate and egg production may be economically important.
