Fatima bint Jaffar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism, held a meeting with representatives of Bahrain’s hotel sector as part of regular meetings aimed at strengthening partnership with the hotel sector and following up on preparations for upcoming tourism seasons and events.
Sarah Ahmed Buhejji, CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), was present.The minister affirmed that the tourism infrastructure of the Kingdom of Bahrain, together with the services and diverse hospitality experiences offered by hotels and resorts, contributes to enhancing the Kingdom’s appeal and attracting more visitors seeking high-quality hospitality experiences and a variety of accommodation options.
She noted that the diversity of hotel offerings helps meet the expectations of different visitor segments and supports the Kingdom's position as a tourism destination capable of providing accommodation experiences that cater to a wide range of needs and aspirations.
Minsiter Al Sairafi said that the diversity of hotel options enhances the competitiveness of Bahrain’s tourism sector and contributes to providing accommodation experiences that meet the expectations of visitors with varying interests. She added that partnership with the hotel sector represents a key pillar in supporting tourism growth and achieving the objectives of the Tourism Sector Strategy 2022 – 2026.
She emphasised the importance of continuing coordination and integration among all relevant stakeholders to deliver a comprehensive tourism experience that reflects the Kingdom's standing as a preferred destination for visits and accommodation.
The meeting reviewed the latest developments in the tourism sector and mechanisms to expand joint cooperation in a manner that enhances the visitor experience and reinforces the Kingdom's position on the regional and international tourism map

Under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), and in the presence of Dr. Shaikha Mariam bint Hassan Al Khalifa, Vice President of the SCW, the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs and the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments organised the awards ceremony for the winners of the 30th Bahrain Grand Holy Quran Award at Isa Cultural Centre.
Dr. Shaikha Mariam bint Hassan Al Khalifa said HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim’s patronage of the award reflects her continued support for women memorising the Holy Quran and efforts to promote religious, educational, and cultural awareness based on the values and teachings of Islam.
She noted the growing participation in the competition and highlighted its contribution over the past three decades to encouraging Quran memorisation and the study of Quranic sciences. She also commended the Quran memorisation centres supervised by the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments for their role in preparing participants and promoting excellence.
Dr. Shaikha Mariam distributed certificates and awards to winners and honoured partner entities supporting the competition, including the Ministry of Interior for the “Ghufran” competition for female inmates of rehabilitation centres, the Ministry of Education for the “Bayan” competition for school students, and the Ministry of Social Development for the “Ajran” competition for the people of determination. Members of the judging committee were also honoured.
The ceremony recognised winners across the various Quran memorisation, recitation, and specialised competition categories, as well as recipients of awards for the oldest and youngest participants, the “Mizmar Dawood” award, the best Quran memorisation centre, and the best local Quran competition

Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, led the Kingdom of Bahrain’s delegation participating in the 2026 Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum, held in Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation.
Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa said Bahrain’s participation in the forum reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening its engagement in global economic forums and advancing strategic partnerships that support sustainable economic growth and create opportunities for cooperation and investment.
The minister said Bahrain continues to strengthen its position as a regional centre for business and investment through policies aimed at supporting economic competitiveness and investment, guided by the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa and the accompanying delegation attended the forum’s main session, during which His Excellency President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation delivered the keynote address in the presence of heads of state, government officials, and business leaders.
The minister said the forum provides a platform for exchanging views on global economic developments and discussing challenges and opportunities facing international markets amid rapid economic changes, contributing to enhanced cooperation among governments, the private sector, and international financial institutions.
The Bahraini delegation included Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce; Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Saati, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Russian Federation; and Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company.
The Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum is an annual event that brings together heads of state, ministers, and business leaders from around the world to discuss global economic issues, investment, and international trade.

Observed annually on 5th June, World Environment Day is globally commemorated for turning environmental awareness into concrete action. For NBB, the day serves as an opportunity to bring its leadership and employees together in direct participation, translating its institutional commitments into collective engagement.

The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications organised the "Cyclethon" event to mark World Bicycle Day, observed annually on June 3, in cooperation with the Bahrain Cycling Association and the Al Haraka Baraka Movement.
Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, said the ministry continues to implement projects and initiatives to develop infrastructure that supports cycling. These efforts include expanding dedicated cycling lanes and enhancing their integration within new urban and housing developments, contributing to a safe and encouraging environment for bicycle use and promoting a culture of sustainable mobility in the Kingdom.
The minister highlighted the cycling track in Madinat Salman, which was completed efficiently and within a record timeframe, noting that it represents one of the Kingdom’s leading examples of modern infrastructure supporting sustainable mobility. He said the track was designed in accordance with international best practices in safety, sustainability and quality standards, ensuring a safe and integrated experience for all age groups while strengthening community connectivity and encouraging healthier and more sustainable lifestyles in line with Bahrain’s urban development objectives.
Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed added that World Bicycle Day provides an opportunity to raise awareness of the growing role of bicycles as a practical and healthy mode of transport and to encourage the adoption of more sustainable mobility patterns, supporting Bahrain’s efforts to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.
