📖To keep it simple, I will share my January journal pages only at the end of the month. But since I started using my Original A6 in December, here’s my last monthly spread of 2025.

📚In 2026, I've been reading like in the good old days. #1984 is my third pick. I've wanted to read it since I was nine (you do the math), and I couldn't postpone it any longer. I have seen the movie, but reading it is a totally different experience. Mandatory literature!

🎻 Last night, I went to a Bach concert from BachPlus , and I was on cloud nine. It was my first classical live concert, and I already want more.

📸 A few months ago, I participated in a photoshoot with , and this week I saw two of my pictures used in campaigns on Facebook and LinkedIn.

Believe it or not, it's all new to me. I can only be thankful for being raised in an environment that didn't set an expiring date at a certain age. There's a lot I still want to do, and I'm grateful for all the opportunities.

Onward and upward!

This is going to be my journal lineup for 2026:

1️⃣ I will continue to use the same cover for my Original Avec. I’m hoping that by using two books, I won’t run into the same problem I had last year. This one will be my scrapbook and visual journal, and I’ll also use it for habit tracking.

2️⃣ The Japanese Hobonichi Cousin is a 2026 Day-Free book. It will be my souvenirs and junk journal. If I run out of pages, I intend to use another Day-Free I bought in 2024 but never ended up using.

3️⃣ The olive Standard Traveler’s Notebook will be my daily journal for yet another year. My cover collection keeps growing, but this color has really grown on me over time. TNs are such a practical solution when you don’t want to limit yourself to just one page per day.

4️⃣ As my curiosity for sketching and philosophy keeps growing, I want to always have a notebook with me. Choosing a Passport Traveler’s Notebook in olive felt like the natural choice.

Another habit I rediscovered in 2025 is reading. To kick off the new year, I chose a book in Dutch on Socratic Dialogue, which was mentioned during the Philosophy Café at .nu in .

I don’t have major goals for 2026, but I am embracing the motto Onward and Upward. All I hope for is to keep “moving forward with love, rising with intention.” While I may not have the time to post daily, I’d love to invite you to join me on this journey.

My best wishes for a fantastic new year ✨

All I wanted in 2025 was to slow down and recover emotionally, physically, and financially after everything I went through in 2024. But the Universe had other plans for me, and I had to find the strength to keep on fighting.

Not all was bad, though, as I:
🧶 managed to knit 100 pairs of baby shoes for vulnerable mothers
📸 participated in a photoshoot from
🏛️ visited museums a few times and attended artistic events
📖 restarted journaling (in an exaggerated way) and found time to read more
🎂 made to 50! Cheers to half century me.

As I continue to de/reconstruct myself, I sincerely hope 2026 will be a kinder year (to us all).

Sending you warm vibes for a peaceful and joyful new year, blessed with health and kindness.

Much love!

Today's my 50th birthday. My first one without my mom.

She said she wanted to “live a few more years,” but she didn't have the chance.

Life feels strange without her, but I do my best to keep moving forward.

Yesterday, on Mother's Day, we went to the , which ended with a stop at the .

Since we stayed at the for the night, we enjoyed a delicious dinner at the .restaurant before going for a drink at the .

My mom believed that life was meant to be lived. It is funny to see how some people almost feel ‘sorry’ for my age.

I need longer nights' sleep, but feel as alive as ever. If not more than before.

For as long as I'll be walking on the surface of this beautiful blue planet, I will make the most out of my existence.

I may not have posted pictures recently, but I have been journaling.

In my challenge to balance work, hobbies, and rest, I have been prioritizing doing.

I don't intend to keep my pages to my eyes only, but please bear with me as I get my life back ‘on track.’

In the meantime, here’s the current status of my . I may need to remove its cover soon. 😅

Here’s my belated January flipthrough.

My hand wasn’t broken after all, “just” bruised, which explains the pain.

Yesterday I was able to drive so I guess I can say I’m back in action.

There are a lot of things I need to catch up on, and let me start with my journal pages of January. My is already super chunky and the year has just started. 😅

Which is your favorite page?

Here’s my belated weekly update. I have been extra busy lately.

After our weekly stop at .aalst, lunch was a smoothie from in . I was too hungry for pictures. 😋

Got my hair done at in the afternoon. Finally some colors after more than a decade with my natural hair. 💇🏻

Sunday was .belgium day, but I had the chance to catch up with my journal. 📝

On Wednesday, January 29, my mom would have turned 86. It was her first birthday without her. Saying the past months have been hard is an understatement. But I kept the tradition and bought her flowers from (I had first ordered a bouquet from , but they took the money and never delivered it. Watch out, folks!). 💐

Also on Wednesday, I delivered my second batch of baby shoes to Babyboon Aalst. If you are from the region, please check and support this beautiful project for vulnerable future mothers. 🤰🏻

On the downside, I fell off my bike when going to .be for maintenance. After pain got a lot worst on Wednesday, we found out at ER yesterday I had broken my hand. Here I am in my first cast. 🏥

But all is good. Four painkillers a day keep the pain away. 🤪

Can’t stop, won’t stop.

It was a busy week, but I took the time to collect my memories today.

I’m truly loving the way my pages are coming out. It’s all about keeping it nice and meaningful. I’m not going for specific aesthetics. My goals are:

1️⃣ Keep track of the things I do.
2️⃣ Slow down and do something that brings me joy.
3️⃣ Enjoy the process.

Just be yourself, and let the magic happen. ✨

The first week on my is in the books.

As I decided to make it my scrapbook and memory keeping, I have been experimenting with the elements. I’m happy with what I see.

I am enjoying putting the pages together and flipping through them, which is the main objective, after all.

Do things that bring you joy.

Sending love vibes your way. Wishing you all a fabulous Sunday.

After so many years without posting regularly, I must bring my photography game back together.

Consider this my humble return.

2024 was a challenging year for me. For those who might not know yet, I lost my mother and my godfather last August, just 23 days from one another.

The challenges actually forced me out of my comfort zone and out of my control freak seat.

I do hope 2025 will be kinder to me. I opened my journaling season with my to celebrate this new beginning. I will use it for collages and memory keeping.

A big thank you to and for their continuous inspiration. And I am looking forward to following everyone in the community again.

Happy New Year!
