The 𝐔𝐋𝐀𝐁 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛 successfully hosted "𝐀 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬", facilitated by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐕𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐢𝐩 𝐆𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬, Lecturer, Department of English and Humanities, ULAB.

Through an engaging blend of theory, practical insights, humor, and interactive discussion, participants explored the fascinating relationship between language, society, and speech. From acoustic phonetics and the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) to the role of social factors in shaping pronunciation, the session offered students a valuable introduction to a field that extends far beyond the traditional classroom.

What made the workshop particularly memorable was the facilitator's approachable and lively style, which transformed complex concepts into accessible and enjoyable learning experiences. The enthusiasm in the room was evident as participants actively engaged with the discussion, expressed interest in pursuing further learning in the field, and even queued up for autographs at the end of the session!

Join the 𝐔𝐋𝐀𝐁 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛 for an engaging workshop, "𝐀 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬," facilitated by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐕𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐢𝐩 𝐆𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬, Lecturer, Department of English and Humanities, ULAB.

This session will introduce participants to the foundations of 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 and provide a practical glimpse into how language variation is studied in real-world contexts. Participants will have the opportunity to:
