নির্বাণ লাভ করা অতি কঠিন ব্যাপার। কিন্তু' দুর্লভ নয়। নির্বাণ লাভ করতে পারলে সত্ত্বগণের সুখ-দুঃখ, হীন-উত্তম, স্বর্গ-নরক, দেবলোক-ব্রহ্মলোক এমনকি পুরো একত্রিশ লোকভূমি সম্বন্ধে অবগত হওয়া যায়। ভগবান বুদ্ধ নির্বাণ গমনের পথ আর্য-অষ্টাঙ্গিকমার্গ আবিষ্কার করেছেন। আর্য-অষ্টাঙ্গিকমার্গ অনুসরণ করলে নির্বাণ লাভ করা যায়। শীলে প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়ে পঞ্চকামগুণ অতিক্রম করে
প্রজ্ঞারূপ অস্ত্র দ্বারা সপ্ত-অনুশয় বা ক্লেশ শত্রুকে পরাজয় করে সর্বদুঃখ হতে মুক্ত হওয়া যায়।

way called 'Eight fold path'.Following these eight fold paths you can attain 'Nirvana'.Taking shelter of precepts(sila), overcoming 'Pancakamaguna'(lust) by using 'Prajnarupa'(wisdom) to defeat misery you can be free from all kind of sufferings.
