I can stare at you for so long and still not know what it feels like to be the name your heart beats. your fingers will graze mine and I will treat it as a miracle.

I will look up at the sky,
the moon will be bloody and it will look like the tears I cried when I told you I want to talk to you but I don't know what to talk about.

there is this distance between us only I can see,
and it stabs my eyes,
as much as it stabs my soul.

so I capture it, place it in my poems, and pretend I once touched it.
