In April 2026, the Interministerial Digital Directorate (DINUM) made it official: every civil servant workstation across the entire French administration must migrate from Microsoft Windows to a sovereign Linux-based environment. Ministries are now scrambling to submit their migration roadmaps by autumn 2026.
