একদম ক্যারিয়ারের শুরুর দিকের কথা।
একবার অন্য একটা স্টেটের একটা IT ফার্মে কোডিং টেস্ট দিতে গেলাম।
ফ্লাইট থেকে নামার পর আমাদের কয়েকজন applicant-কে একটা গাড়িতে রিসিভ করা হলো। আমরা সবাই বেশ এক্সসাইটেড ছিলাম , কেউ কেউ শেষ মুহূর্তে কোড রিভিউ করছে, কেউ কেউ আবার আড্ডা দিচ্ছে।
গাড়ি থেকে নেমে আমরা কোম্পানিতে পৌঁছালাম। সারাদিন ধরে একটার
পর একটা বেশ কয়েকটা কোডিং টেস্ট, টেকনিক্যাল ইন্টারভিউ, গ্রুপ ডিসকাশন সব মিলিয়ে যথেষ্ট ইন্টেন্স একটা দিন ছিল। কোডিং টেস্ট শেষে বাসায় ফিরে আসলাম।
কিন্তু পরে চমৎকার একটা ব্যাপার জানলাম।
আমাদের যে গাড়িটা রিসিভ করেছিল, সেই গাড়ির ড্রাইভারও আসলে ওই IT ফার্মের একজন এমপ্লয়ী ছিল!
আর সে শুধু ড্রাইভার ছিল না বরং, আমাদের behavior silently observe করছিলো।
কে কেমনভাবে কথা বলছে, কে কাকে রেসপেক্ট দিচ্ছে, কে ছোট কাজকে তুচ্ছ করছে সবই তাদের এসেসমেন্ট এর অংশ ছিল।
এমনকি পুরো দিন জুড়েই আমাদের behavioral pattern ট্র্যাক করা হচ্ছিল।
কোনো চাকরি পেতে বা সেই রোলে ভালো করতে চাইলে শুধু টেকনিকাল স্কিলই যথেষ্ট নয়।
তোমার attitude, communication, respectfulness, team spirit, এবং calmness under pressure এই স্কিলগুলোর সমানভাবে গুরুত্ব আছে।
কারণ, কোম্পানি শুধু ভালো প্রোগ্রামার চায় না, সাথে তারা চায় একজন responsible, humble এবং team-friendly মানুষও।
জীবনে কখন, কোথায়, কে তোমার আচরণ দেখছে, সেটা তুমি কখনও জানো না।
তাই সবসময় এমনভাবে আচরণ করো যেন পুরো পৃথিবী তোমার character-এর mirror দেখতে পায়।
কারণ,
তুমি কী জানো,তোমার টেকনিক্যাল সেটা তোমাকে একটা চাকরি দিতে পারে।
কিন্তু
তুমি কেমন মানুষ, সেটা তোমাকে একটা ক্যারিয়ার দিতে পারে।
মাথায় রাইখো, তোমার behavior-ই তোমার সবচেয়ে বড় resume।
আর সেটা যতটা সুন্দর রাখবে, ততটাই সুন্দর হবে তোমার পথচলা।
