Eating pitha during Poush Parbon is an emotional experience, even though I can’t eat it much. I still remember, when I was a child at home, my mother would prepare many kinds of pithas on this day. She would first offer them to the Lord, and then we would all eat together as a family. During Tagore Puja, my mother would tell us a kechcha (story) as part of the ritual. Every year, the story was the same, but it never felt boring to hear it again.
In my childhood, I heard thousands of such stories from our elders, especially my grandparents. Perhaps the story of kechcha can be told another day. Today, thousands of miles away from home, I am eating pitha during Poush Parbon and reminiscing. My wife, despite her busy schedule, took the time to prepare this pitha, and it was delicious. I am grateful to her♥️
