Chinese researchers have stunned the world by setting a new record in flexible solar technology. Recently, a team from Soochow University has successfully solved critical efficiency and stability challenges in silicon-based flexible tandem solar cells, with their findings published in the prestigious scientific journal 'Nature'.

Until now, flexible solar panels were prone to damage from repeated bending and delivered limited power output. To solve this challenge, the researchers developed an innovative 'loose-tight' buffer structure and advanced layering techniques. This innovation enabled them to achieve an impressive 33.6% conversion efficiency on a silicon substrate just 60 micrometres thin—setting a new global record for flexible solar cells. Even in larger devices, the technology achieved 29.8% efficiency. Remarkably, the device retained 97% of its performance after 43,000 bending cycles. Experts say this breakthrough marks a major milestone for the silicon-based solar industry.

Marking a significant milestone in its renewable energy transition, Tonga has officially commissioned the China-assisted Wind Farm Project on July 14. This landmark initiative, comprising three 750-kilowatt wind turbines, a 110-kilovolt switch station and transmission infrastructure, now supplying clean power to the national grid. The wind farm has already produced more than 2.8 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, accounting for around 3.8% of Tonga's annual power supply and 25% of its renewable output. The project represents a major step toward the country's Energy Road Map targets of 70% renewable energy by 2030 and 100% by 2035. More than just infrastructure, this collaboration stands as a powerful testament to the enduring China-Tonga partnership and a shared commitment to building a greener, more resilient future.

সরকার কার্ডিয়াক স্টেন্টের (হার্টের রিং) দাম কমিয়ে ১০টি মডেলের নতুন সর্বোচ্চ খুচরা মূল্য নির্ধারণ করেছে। আন্তর্জাতিক ও দেশীয় বাজারমূল্য বিশ্লেষণ এবং বিশেষজ্ঞ পরামর্শক কমিটির সুপারিশের ভিত্তিতে এই সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়।

আজ (৪ আগস্ট) স্বাস্থ্য ও পরিবার কল্যাণ মন্ত্রনালয়ের পাঠানো এক বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে এ তথ্য জানানো হয়।

বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে বলা হয়, অ্যাবট, বোস্টন সায়েন্টেফিক এবং মেডট্রোনিক কোম্পানির আমদানিকৃত মোট ১০টি স্টেন্টের নতুন মূল্য পুনঃনির্ধারণ করা হয়েছে। নতুন দামে কর, ভ্যাট, বিভিন্ন চার্জ এবং কোম্পানির যুক্তিসঙ্গত মুনাফা বিবেচনায় রাখা হয়েছে।

স্বাস্থ্য মন্ত্রণালয়ের সংশ্লিষ্ট সূত্র জানায়, ভারতের তুলনায় বাংলাদেশের বাজারে স্টেন্টের দাম অনেক বেশি হওয়ায় এটি কমিয়ে আনার উদ্যোগ নেওয়া হয়।

নতুন নির্ধারিত দামে যেসব স্টেন্ট অন্তর্ভুক্ত রয়েছে, তার মধ্যে উল্লেখযোগ্য:

এছাড়া বোস্টন ও অ্যাবট কোম্পানির আরও কয়েকটি মডেলের দাম উল্লেখযোগ্য হারে কমানো হয়েছে।

বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে আরও উল্লেখ করা হয়, নতুন এই মূল্যতালিকা ব্যাপকভাবে প্রচার করতে হবে এবং কোনো হাসপাতাল স্টেন্টের ক্ষেত্রে সার্ভিস চার্জ হিসেবে ৫ শতাংশের বেশি আদায় করতে পারবে না।

একইসঙ্গে, অনুমোদিত সর্বোচ্চ খুচরা মূল্যের চেয়ে বেশি দামে কোনো কার্ডিওভাসকুলার বা নিউরো ইমপ্ল্যান্ট ডিভাইস বিক্রি না হয় তা নিশ্চিত করতে কঠোর মনিটরিংয়ের নির্দেশনা দেওয়া হয়।
