On March 20, 2025, Attorney Charles G. Brown, President of the World Alliance for Mercury-Free Dentistry, held a high-level meeting with Dr. Amporn Benjaponpitak, Director-General of the Department of Health, Thailand, along with senior officials and experts from the Bureau of Dental Public Health, Adolescent Oral Health Development and Risk Factors Division, and the Environmental Health Bureau.
The meeting focused on Thailandโ€™s progress in phasing out dental amalgam in line with the Minamata Convention on Mercury and preparations for COP-6. Discussions also emphasized strengthening collaborative efforts to accelerate the transition to mercury-free dentistry.
