Step 1 — Create a GTM Account
* Go to tagmanager.google.com
* Create a new account and enter your business name
* Create a container and select “Web”
* You will get two codes (Head and Body)
Step 2 — Add GTM Code to Your Website
* Paste the Head code inside the `` tag
* Paste the Body code right after the opening `` tag
* If you use WordPress → edit header.php
* If you use Shopify → edit theme.liquid
* This is usually a one-time task done by a developer
Step 3 — Create Facebook Pixel
* Go to Meta Business Suite → Events Manager
* Click “Connect Data Source”
* Select Web → Facebook Pixel
* Create a Pixel and copy the Pixel ID
Step 4 — Add Pixel in GTM
* Go to GTM Dashboard → Tags → New
* Choose Tag Type: Custom HTML
* Paste Facebook Pixel base code
* Add your Pixel ID
* Set Trigger: All Pages
* Save it
Step 5 — Set Up Purchase Event
* Create a new Tag again
* Add Purchase event code in Custom HTML
* Set Trigger to your “Thank You” page URL
* This ensures the event fires when someone completes a purchase
Step 6 — Preview and Publish
* Click Preview in GTM
* Open your website and test
* Check if the tag is firing correctly
* Use Facebook Pixel Helper Chrome extension
* If everything works, click Submit → Publish
Result
Now your Pixel is fully active.
