A study in coastal Bangladesh found that the BARI Mung-6 variety of mungbean performed well in moderate salinity, making it a good choice for cultivation in that region. However, higher salinity levels negatively impacted all varieties, significantly reducing crop yield and seed weight.

A recent study in Sierra Leone characterized indigenous chicken breeds, finding five distinct ecotypes and identifying the Kebu breed as having the most favorable physical traits. The research also revealed that E. coli isolates from these chickens showed resistance to several antibiotics, with the Kebu breed exhibiting the highest resistance.

πΎπ± Boosting Jute Growth and Yield with Nutrient Management! π±πΎ
Great news for jute enthusiasts and farmers! π An exciting experiment was conducted at the Jute Research Substation in Monirampur, Jashore, back in 2021 to determine the perfect recipe for maximizing the growth and yield of the BJRI tossa pat-8 variety. And the results are in! π
Using a completely randomized block design with three trials, researchers tested various plant nutrient treatments to find the optimal combination. Here's what they discovered:
πΏ T1: Poultry manure @ 5 t ha-1
πΏ T2: Recommended dose of fertilizer (RDF)
πΏ T3: RDF + Poultry manure @ 5 t ha-1
πΏ T4: 50% RDF + Poultry manure @ 5 t ha-1
πΏ T5: 75% RDF + Poultry manure @ 5 t ha-1
πΏ T6: 125% RDF + Poultry manure @ 2.5 t ha-1
πΏ T7: 150% RDF + Poultry manure @ 2.5 t ha-1
πΏ T8: 150% RDF + Poultry manure @ 5 t ha-1 (the star performer! π)
So, what's the magic combination? π§ββοΈ It's the T8 treatment, which is 150% RDF + poultry manure @ 5 t ha-1! π― This powerful blend resulted in remarkable outcomes for BJRI tossa pat-8:
π± Impressive plant height: 258 cm
π± Abundant leaves per plant: 44.67
π± Healthy fresh leaf weight: 1.55 g
π± Robust base, middle, and terminal diameters
π± A wealth of nodes per plant: 50.73
π± High fiber yield: 4.30 t ha-1
π± Incredible harvest index: 26.46%
The control treatment (T0) didn't quite make the cut and produced the lowest values for most parameters. π But fear not! By adopting the winning formula of 150% RDF + poultry manure @ 5 t ha-1, farmers can substantially increase their jute fiber and stick yield! πΎπͺ for more (https://www.journalbinet.com/testajcsp-080123-36.html)
Let's celebrate this exciting advancement in jute cultivation and share the good news with fellow farmers and nature enthusiasts! π Jute holds immense potential, and with careful nutrient management, we can ensure a bountiful harvest and sustainable growth. Let's embrace innovation and continue nurturing our environment while reaping the benefits of this fantastic plant! π±πΏ
