Hello friends, this is a cautionary tale.

As some of you may have seen that my last post (and the last music I released) was over 3 years ago, so what happened?

My hiatus wasn’t for the lack of music, quite the opposite, however it did turn out that way in the end

At some point roughly two years ago, my machine was compromised via a ransomware virus. The assailant managed to encrypt every file on my workstation, including all and any backups. In essence, this meant that every single project I’ve worked on, every sample I’ve collected, anything and everything that defined my musical journey over the last 20 years, was gone.

I was faced with two basic options. Cry and complain about and still be in the same place with no end goal in sight or move on. I chose the latter, I didn’t let it get the better of me and instead focused on the road ahead, not the road behind.

So where are we today? Well, whilst I don’t have any older music (aside from a few I was able to rescue via Dropbox), I have managed to build a nice collection of new stuff.

I will be sharing even more news as things develop but I think it’s a fitting start by announcing that I’ve collaborated on a new track with my long time compadres Cosmic Gate for our third collaboration together. Now, I may be slightly biased here, but it is my favourite one so far. The good news is that you don’t have to wait long for it, the release date is Aug 9th 🥳

So in conclusion, if you’re a producer (or anyone that has critical data, whether it’s work or family photos) please do yourself a favour and make sure you’ve got your machine protected and with plenty of offline backups.
