For those attending my Dark Burlesque workshop tomorrow or are interested, this will be the track (attached) we'll be moving and stripteasing to.

As with all my routines I always have a backstory to my acts, even if it's just a straightforward dance number. This track is part of the David Lynch legacy (Twin Peaks 3) and it oozes mystery and dark s*x appeal. It speaks of secrets, late nights, cocktails, cigarette smoke, the shadows, s*x, whispers of nefarious doings, the occult, mystery and fascination. Very film noir, very femme fatale.

All this is infused into the dance moves I'll teach, so that you'll feel transported to the Roadhouse, One Eyed Jacks or even the Black Lodge. For the non-obsessive Lynchian fans, think of it as a decadent yet dangerous dive bar where you have ultimate control to do whatever you want with your eyes and your body alone, whether it's this realm or another ✨

Learn how to Bewitch the Audience at Gothla AU Sat 7/10 👯‍♀️✨

I have seen thousands of performances over the two decades of performing, and while there are a lot of good performers out there, there’s very few who actually command the audience. In order to do this you don’t have to be the best dancer, wear expensive costumes, look a certain way or even need years of experience. Obviously these help but ultimately it’s about shifting your energy, intention and focus in alignment with your physicality.

This workshop incorporates psychological, mental and physical elements. There’s also plenty of stage secrets I’ve learnt along the way from various performance experiences that I’ll share with you all 😉

We’ll learn how to be aware and control every part of your body at all times, connect with your space around you so it becomes ‘alive’, direct how the audiences watches your performance, characterisation and motivation, really be centered and in the moment and more!

I’ll also be teaching Dark Burlesque for Beginners with Venus Vamp the day before Fri 6/10 where we will learn a simple dark burlesque routine while learning how to utilise melodrama!

Between the two workshops there will be an amazing performance with all the Gothla teachers plus more fabulous dancers at 'Cabaret of Curiosities' presented by Gothla AU & The Vampire Lounge

Learning 'Dark Burlesque' Venus Vamp style ;)

Dark Burlesque has become such a big part of the overall international contemporary burlesque scene. However when I started performing in 2006 that certainly wasn't the case for a long time. Dark Burlesque was seen as a more niche and a 'specialty' style performance that would be heavily booked around Halloween but it wasn't considered as a serious art form any other time of the year.

However this has drastically changed thanks to the alternative music scene, fe**sh clubs, q***r scene, goth events, horror fans and a special mention to the Boulet Brothers behind the successful horror/punk/filth/glam drag reality show Dragula which is now running into the 5th season - Dark Burlesque has certainly found it's footing in the graveyard and on stages all over the world!

In my workshop we will be covering a simple choreography which will be the vehicle for the ~real~ lessons in timing, holding space, full body awareness, using eye contact, body language, drawing on your inner s*xuality and confidence, understanding characterisation and utilising drama to the full extant!

This is like the baby sister workshop to Bewitch the Audience - with Venus Vamp which will be held Saturday Oct 7th. Where Bewitch is focusing more on stagecraft, psychology and technique, this workshop will be more of a fun physical work out while learning the deep secrets of Dark Burlesque!

It has been a life mission of mine to bring light to the art of Rosaleen Norton as she is wildly underrated for her skill, talent and vision. As a female artist who was independent, rebellious, s*xually expressive and seriously into the magick arts she was shunned and even banned instead of being celebrated.

As a performing/events artist and spiritualist sadly all my current work opportunities have been frozen due to the current Sydney lockdown. If it weren’t for lockdown I would been working at events, seeing clients and working my casual day job as well as working on other projects. We are never particularly protected in these times and while everything is locked down to protect people, at the same time our livelihoods is in jeopardy and frankly so is the ability to pay rent and bills 😕 We’re always left scrambling to work out how to manage in these times especially when landlords and companies aren’t particularly ‘empathetic’ 🙃

I know for a fact a lot of people love my performances and productions which is always super lovely to hear!
