A little client love while we keep the wheels turning in the workshop.

Right now we’re busy working on new patterns and samples, while also keeping up with our regular laser cutting for our made to order clients. Lots of good things are happening behind the scenes, even if we can’t show you all of them just yet.

We’re currently booked out for new work until September, but there is a very small window left for anyone hoping to launch for summer. If that’s you, now is a good time to get in touch before that space disappears.

Running a fashion business can feel like one long series of decisions, delays, problem solving and crossed fingers, so it means a lot when clients take the time to say they felt supported through the process.

We’re still deep in the day to day over here — patterns, samples, laser cutting, fittings, spreadsheets, emails, all the glamorous bits — and very grateful to keep doing this work with people we genuinely love working with.

There’s something pretty special about seeing an idea grow wings 🩷💛💙

Dani first came to Textile Lab as a work experience student from Curtin, and she was an absolute delight from day one. Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of mentoring her through the final stages of her graduate collection, printing her artwork onto fabric, and then working together to turn that momentum into the launch of DNLA the Label.

It’s been a real pleasure helping her on this journey. Messages like this are such a lovely reminder of why I do what I do: “Thank you again for your support… I’m so excited for what’s next and to keep building this together… Thank you for helping to make my dreams exist in the world!”

And let me tell you, it takes a village to launch a label. Shout outs to Dani’s mum, boyfriend and classmates for cheering her on and helping pull it all together. And to my own team, Nga, Emily and Mia, who helped make the garments, and Sarina, who came along to the markets with me. It takes talent, teamwork and a whole lot of people willing to believe in the dream before everyone else can see it.
