I did my first paid shoot in November for the beautiful Ella Barstow. Here are some of the results.
It's been a crazy year at work. So I haven't been able to do as much photography as I wanted. However, going through some of this years stuff, I found a few night sky photos I'd missed. I think they're pretty good. This batch were taken during a full moon. Which is why the Milky Way is on the horizon - I had to wait that long to be able to see it! Hope you like them.
I was at Laurel Bank doing a formal shoot when I found this family without a photographer. So I took these shots for them. Seemed like the thing to do.
I got another chance to try taking photos of lightning and had a bit more success. I think the magic formula is 10 second exposures, lowish ISO and apeture settings. After that, all you need is a storm and a teensy bit of luck!
A couple of these have out pretty well and I'm really pleased with them. I hope you enjoy them too.
I tried taking photos of lightning for the first time a couple of nights ago. As expected, it's not real easy! As you can tell, the storm I was watching was a fair distance off.
But, I did learn you need a lot of patience to capture lightning. And a bit of good luck too!
Sadly I didn't get the latter. And every good bolt of lightning struck immediately after the photo I had just taken!
As regular viewers know, I love good sunset. Well, while I was away, a short while back, I caught a few crackers! Hope you enjoy them.
Great views from Bailey Loves shop in the beautiful Montville.
Beautiful views from Maleny to the Sunshine Coast.
I've worked on a few more of the Milky Way photos I took up at Hervey Range in July. Hope you like them.
As you know, I'm a sucker for sunset photo. Well, yesterday we had a pretty good one. With smoke from a nearby bushfire in the middle ground to boot! Here are some of the shots I took.
While I was away, I did come across some birds who obligingly flew around pretty close to me. Here are the best shots.
A few more of the Milky Way shots I got in NQ a couple of weeks ago. CC welcomed.
I've been away with work a lot over the last couple of months. However, I have managed to take a few photos on my travels. Here are a few. (Not all edited yet).
Caught a cracker of a sunset last night heading to Clifton. Didn't have the Nikon with me, so these are off my Galaxy S9+.
Aviation and history buffs probably remember the WW2 ME-109 fighter. But I bet they don't know the 'ME-109' electric trike? I saw this at the classic car rally recently and couldn't resist a few 'shots!'
As you know, I'm a big fan of sunsets. Here is a cracker I caught recently. (Tryg will probably recognise the location!)
My tripod couldn't manage the highest angles. Here are some of my photos of tonight's lunar eclipse. Not processed.
We bought a Porsche Boxster late last year. Prettiest, best handling, fastest car we have ever owned. It is SOOOO much fun to drive. A couple of weeks ago I finally got round to taking some photos of her. Hope you like them.
Those of you who have been following me for a while know that I'm a sucker for a good sunset photo or two. A few weeks back, I caught a cracker. And then managed to get what I think are pretty decent dusk shots over the new Range Crossing.
While I was at the David Hack Classic on Sunday, one of the car owners asked if I would take photos of his car? He seemed to think I might not? Of course, I dragged him over to his car and happily shot away. Here are some of the photos.
Went to the David Hack Classic yesterday. LOAAAADS of beautiful cars!
I went to the David Hack Classic meet yesterday. I was not disappointed! There were LOAAAADS of beautiful cars of all ages and sizes. Here are few of them. (More to follow!)
Tracey and I went for drive out west a couple of weeks ago.
Here are some more of the photos I took last weekend at the Toowoomba Busking Festival. I hope you like them.
Two very talented young ladies: Montana Kennedy in the 'cloudpants', (her words not mine!) and Vanessa Muller.
Some of the photos I took at the Busking Festival in Toowoomba today.
So, I did a bit of study and learned how to (possibly) make landscape photos 'pop'. Had to give it a go. Here are my first efforts. Let me know what you think.
As I said, last week I did some formal photos for a friends twin boys. Here are some of my favourites.
I was asked to do some photos for a friends kids Formal. I was a little nervous, but actually enjoyed it. Got there early so I could check out the venue. Turns out there were already people, and classic cars, there to have photographs done. So I got to take a few photos of other couples. Here are a few of them.
It's been a while. Life has been....busy. And tiring in equal measure. But, I did manage to take a few astro-photos a few weeks back. Most of them weren't up to much. Here are the best three.
We get to see a lot of bird life when we travel around. Funny thing is, despite what professional images make you think, birds are NOT cooperative subjects! Here are some of the photos of them I've taken in the last 6 months or so.
We had a quick moving storm come through last Sunday. I managed to get some photos of the clouds before the downpour. Here are the best of them.
While we were up at Rainbow Beach, I tried out my new Tokina lens again. And, again, it blew me away with how sensitive it is! Can't wait for Milky Way season this year.
We were up at Rainbow beach recently. There was King tide, (a very high, high tide), there not long before. It caused a fair bit of erosion!
Photoshop has always been a mysterious dark art to me. Far beyond my ability to pe*****te and make use of.
However, casually surfing Youtube recently, I discovered a free course. I am still going through it - primarily because as I go, I am practicing. None the less, I found this an accessible and user friendly tutorial. Let me know how you go if any of you use it.
