Meet Rosie, the Cavilier King Charles, she's 9 months old and ready to sniff out survey marks, though she does prefer if there is a treat on them.

From time to time she will assist me in the field. She loves humans and dogs, so feel free to come and say hi if you see us out surveying together.

Happy belated International Womens Day to all the lovely ladies out there. I am so proud to be one of these few women in the Surveying Profession. Some I've known for a while and some I just got to meet on Wednesday.

Celebrating Women in Surveying 🎉👩‍🔧

Queensland Government Principal Surveyor, Jemma, is the first Chairperson of the Queensland Women in Surveying network and was delighted to lead the first forum on Wednesday.

"As a woman in surveying, it's a privilege to chair this network. It's about supporting and encouraging one another, gaining inspiration from shared experiences, and embracing mentorship. We had a fantastic turnout of over 20 attendees, fostering inspiration among like-minded women in the surveying industry."

The surveying sector, crucial for Queensland's economic development, remains predominantly male-dominated - only 3% of surveyors registered with the Surveyors Board of Queensland are female. There are many more women in the industry and this initiative marks a significant stride in creating career pathways for women.

Let's celebrate this exciting era for women in surveying!
