Bloody new obsession, check out all of her epic creations!

Hey Scrappers.

I'm Kayla and it feels like the right time to properly reintroduce myself because this little hobby has grown and shifted in ways I never saw coming.

I have been a disability support worker for 13 years. Earlier this year the house I had worked at for 4 years shut down, and I was shot out into the world as a casual with no stability, no routine and no sense of direction. My mental health took a nosedive off a cliff. I felt like the rug had been ripped out from under me.

I needed something to hold onto, so in April I bought a cheap sewing machine and taught myself how to sew. (My mum showed me to read a pattern though, thanks ma!) No plan to sell. No dream to start anything big. I just needed a creative outlet to keep my head straight. I started making upcycled hoodies in my dining room and posted them online because I was proud of them, even when they were messy, chaotic and learning-curve stitched. (Were? Still are 😂) I had intended to do local markets when they stockpiled in my house.

Then Facebook happened.
The encouragement you all sent pushed me to try one launch, just to see what happened.

On 25.11.25 I dropped my first collection ever and somehow it ✨️sold out✨️ in 4 hours. I still cannot believe it.

And the wildest part is that a week before that launch, I finally got to go back permanent at work in a new house that I love. After months of instability, everything started feeling steady and right again. And with that stability came the space to focus properly on this hobby and share my creations with all of you.

Now that the first drop is done, I have decided this is how I want to grow. Slow, steady, intentional. I will launch collections of 10 as I make them. And drop them on my website, link in bio.
This is slow fashion, so it takes time, but I want you along for the ride.

Two weeks before each drop I will post detailed pics, measurements and prices on Facebook so everyone gets time to choose their favourites.

Hang out with me, give me your opinions, comment, chat and be part of this little community as I evolve and learn in real time.

If you are here, you are officially a Scrapper.
Welcome to the ScrapYard.
