I am relatively new to Australia and, until recently, didn't know the history behind Australia Day.
Whilst we must all celebrate this blessed country of ours, we must acknowledge this day represented doom and devastation of every sort for the traditional owners, always the owners now and into the future, of this magical land. They lived in harmony with nature for 50 thousand years. I celebrate their wisdom and deeply respect their people, past, present and future 🧡

This is from the 2007 Basquesse summer collection, but the Sirena jacket is still a popular item among our clients until today.
Because we tell stories with our garments, rather than following trends, the styles remain relevant years, even decades later.

To say it has been a challenging year for all is probably an understatement.
The loveliest and the ugliest that humanity can produce often make themselves evident in times of crisis.
Here at Basquesse we feel blessed we experience the former 99% of the time 🙏 (and the remaining 1% is quickly forgotten 😉).

Our Very French Summer Breeze dress, named after suggestions from our lovely followers, could not be more flattering at any age or size, and is wearable day or night for a wide host of occasions.
The best thing about them? They are slow fashion, artisan, made locally in Sydney, if the very best mulberry silks available anywhere. And, like most of our dresses, you feel you are wearing nothing at all!

Our little Trapezium cocktail dresses, in red silk chiffon and black silk crepe, flattering on anyone and comfortable to wear day or night. Another great number for the summer as, they are so so very light, you feel you have nothing on.
