Thank so much for having me and my amazing band SIMA (in conjunction with Sydney Festival) on Darug Country at Riverside Theatres Sunday night.

The power of the arts to unite and heal is more important than ever - as is supporting indie Aussie artists/small business.

I’ve removed my previous post as I am not up for more abuse, I am day 2 of 16 days in my 5th solo quarantine in order to work and provide for my family, and that comes with a particular set of mental health challenges I need to manage.

I can’t do that with random people I don’t know making wildly incorrect presumptions and accusations about me - so pls don’t continue that here.

I really, really wish robust and kind discussions with multiple POV's were possible online - but they just aren’t at the moment. Just now I was called a right wing white supremacist neo-nazi and minutes later an anti vaxxer doing a disservice to our health system somehow... (hilariously, this is just after I did my 1st of 3 PCR tests for this quarantine alone)...hmm so yeah, I’m out.

These are stressful times and I understand platforms like this are a place for people to vent their stress and try and claim complete understanding of extraordinarily complex issues.

In these situations I always return to Socrates /Plato - true knowledge exists in knowing you know nothing.

We know it’s tough for all of the Greater Sydney, Wollongong, Blue Mountains and Central Coast right now. 🏠 Team HPB are all separated, isolating at home and waiting out the covid storm, but we are feeling for people, businesses and industries that are feeling the effects of the current cloud of negative energy. 🎶 We’d love to know what one song (by any artist) you’ve been listening to during lockdown that has drawn the positive energy back into your life. Hopefully we can make a playlist to share with the band and the rest of our fan family.

What a week! Thank you to everyone who came out on Wednesday night. To say that I’m grateful would be an understatement. I will never forget the shock of walking out and seeing how many people filled the room or the feeling of being so in flow like it was the only thing that I was supposed to do. The backstage jams, the people i connected with, danced with and had so much fun with. Thank you Ryan Edward Johns for teaming up with me and to everyone who helped make it happen, especially those who have believed in me, maybe even more than I believe in myself. And thank you @AustMusicWeek for taking a chance on on me for my first gig ~ just some chick who promised to have it all together even when she didn’t know that she could. Excited to see where we go from here. This is just the beginning. Thank you x

Dear friends,

I woke on Friday to learn that my two upcoming Australian festival bookings had been cancelled, so with a heavy heart I put myself on the first flight home.
It was a difficult day to say the least. The tour has been levelled by forces completely outside anyone’s control. If you bought tickets for a show, please contact the point of sale for refund details.

Playing in Australia has been such a great experience. This tour was already deeply refreshing and rejuvenating. Enough fuel to last a whole year. I am so grateful to those audiences for receiving me in such style.

For now I’m going to keep working on the next record, as I have been all winter. I’ll come back to Australia once this situation is resolved.

I hope that wherever you are, you are safe and supported. If anyone would like an Old Fashioned, I picked up plenty of ingredients in duty-free.

Surrounded by some incredible musicians, Katie sang like an angel, where you could feel the energy from the stage and all the notes appeared in their right place.

It was a joy & wonder to see such classic pop song’s interpreted in such a way you saw how brilliant the songwriting was.

Imagine being in a beautiful space of a time past, yet very much in the present and one where you are taken on a magical musical journey around the globe, through introductory words by Vladimir Fanshill (Host, co-founder of LIVE at YOURS LIVE AT YOURS , Conductor & pianist) followed by the incredible melodies, rhythms played on the Harp, by Emily Grainger and Saxophones, by the NEXAS Quartet).

This was one of those times, where the performance of music of the past and recent intertwined, played with such virtuosity, skill and yet so very relaxed and playful.

It was clear too, that those in attendance, through their applause and smiling faces, were transported on that knew this was indeed a special night.

It was a privilege to witness the interview with ISOKINGS/STAGEKINGS Co-founder Jeremy Fleming & Mark Bouris Mark Bouris, about the incredible story of creativity, resilience and community, in the face of an uncertain future, at the onset of Covid -19 Lockdown.

It was clear, that all involved in this story, have an incredibly positive outlook on life and in many ways, this is reflected in the work they do and create. You can well imagine this going well into the future, with more and more stories of those impacted by innovative people.

ISOKINGS Have raised $90K for SUPPORT ACT @supportact Helping people in the music industry over many years, but especially so in the times we are currently facing.

I spoke briefly to Michael, at The AMW conference in late 2019 not long after he had participated in a keynote panel at AMW [about the state of and his long & amazing life in the music industry].

My abiding memory of that day, was that he was very much more interested in the present, then reminiscing about the past.

All making his passing, just a few days ago, that much more poignant and at the same time, it is appropriate I think, to celebrate the foundations laid, by such a pioneer with such a forward-thinking attitude and passion.

[And at this moment, I thought of all the Albums and CD’s in my collection released through Mushroom, with many decades of great listening!].

And with such a beautiful audience, where they new the space where quietness lives and when audience interaction was loud, fun, fully appropriate.

A time where the worries of the world, we're somehow less and so, as was the opportunity to express emotion, through, tears, laughter and joy. It's an innate thing too, where it's not something you can really plan for, overthink, rather simply embrace, experience for all its worth.
