Handcrafted over more than 500 hours for ABC Bullion, Aurelia Elephas is a one-of-a-kind creation by W.J. Sanders' expert artisans—and valued at half a million dollars, it is set to become the most valuable auction item in the history of Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation Gold Dinner when it goes up for auction this Thursday.

Hand perfected by W.J. Sanders expert craftspeople, the clutch features a hand-raised sterling silver elephant body, 18-carat yellow gold detailing and 706 hand-set gemstones—including 18 carats of diamonds, plus vivid green tsavorite garnets, sapphires, amethysts and rhodolite garnets.

At its heart, this singular creation is a celebration of what can happen when craftsmanship and creativity come together to make real difference. W.J. Sanders is incredibly proud to have brought to life what is not only a feat of craftsmanship, but a meaningful contribution to the lives of sick kids in Australia.

W.J. Sanders is proud to have crafted a bespoke 24-carat gold cup and spoon as part of a memorable ABC Bullion caviar offering at the SCHF Gold Dinner next month.

Prized Black Pearl Beluga Caviar sits atop a serving spoon hammered from 100% Australian gold, while Belvedere 10 Vodka completes the experience.

As a material, gold is inert and does not impart flavour, resulting in the purest and most luxurious way to experience these delicacies in their true expression. It makes for a truly singular experience, not unlike like the rarity of gold.

While the moment of decadence may be fleeting, the impact is lasting—proceeds go to vital paediatric care thanks to the work of Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation.

The sculptural objects in our Exceptional collection—depicting native Australian animals through ethically sourced emu eggs—are a playful objet d’art rooted in Australian identity.

The pieces reference early 18th century Australian and English silversmiths who used the rare eggs, seen as exotic and unworldly, in table centrepieces and decorative silver.

A classic comes full circle 🫖

This teapot was crafted in the 1930s by W.J. Sanders, and—thanks to a recent fortuitous find—came back to us, now bearing the marks of a life well lived. A soft build-up of scale, evidence of years spent doing exactly what it was made to do.

Its Bakelite handle and finial, so characteristic of the period, remain close to our own history. We still hold original samples in the workshop: an important reference to the craftsmanship of the time.

Meticulously cleaned and restored, the piece now sits in the library of our new Showroom, ready to be appreciated once more.
