Why do some people pull away just when things are getting close?
One of the most common patterns I see is the avoidant attachment style.
Often, it isn’t that someone doesn’t care. It’s that closeness can trigger discomfort, vulnerability, or a need for distance. The more important the relationship becomes, the stronger that urge to pull back can feel.
The good news is that attachment styles are learned patterns, and learned patterns can change.
By understanding your triggers, improving emotional awareness, and creating new responses, it is possible to build deeper, healthier connections.
Awareness is where change begins.

At the end of the day, self-worth grows when you start acknowledging what you are doing well instead of only focusing on what is wrong or missing.
A powerful question to ask yourself is:
“Would I choose this if I truly believed I mattered?”
That one question can change a lot.
It can change:
relationships.
Choices.
Boundaries.
Even the direction of your life.
It is the small shifts that create lasting change. What will you change today?

Small promises to yourself matter more than you think…
You build self-respect every time you keep a promise to yourself.
Finishing one small task that is meaningful to you.
Going for a walk.
Doing the meditation instead of putting yourself last again.
Taking care of your health.
And sometimes valuing yourself also means resting before you get to the point of complete exhaustion.

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is stop abandoning yourself for other people…
valuing yourself means protecting your energy from people who constantly drain you.
And it also means stopping those times where you diminish yourself just to make other people comfortable.
Your needs matter.
Your feelings matter and your wellbeing matters too.
