Last week was the birthday of my late mother-in-law, and I was going to share these photo then. The truth is, I got too sad.

Today, I share it in memory of a beautiful mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother who meant so much to all of us.

I feel so grateful to have captured this moment with her and her grandchildren, not knowing it would be our last photo session together.

Photos matter. They become some of the most precious things we have when all that's left are the memories.

Some days, it’s the simplest things that captivate me, a classic bottle, a reaching shadow, a quiet moment. Sometimes I capture them on camera, and sometimes just in my memory.

Not every boy loves having photos taken, but give me a proud dad and his boys and somehow the magic always shows up
