!!O.M.S turns 1 today!! 🥳
From the bottom of our hearts we would like to thank our loyal customers, family and friends. Thankyou for giving us a go and we look forward to keeping you all on the water trouble free for years to come!
Lucky save once again.. during this major service we noticed the fuel lines were the original lines from factory... Older Mercury Marine fuel lines are very susceptible to have their inner linings deteriorate and fall apart getting sucked straight up into your engines fuel system...
This 150 EFI was saved well by its on board filter.
We replaced all filters and fuel lines, now this cranky motor will be on its merry way again!
We now have some basic fishing and tackle in stock. Come on down and check it out. 🎣
Another O.M.S surgery
This poor old early 350 chev had a hard life and was brought into us locked up after it's first short lived run since the customer purchased it....
After a trip to the engineers and having the heads and block reconditioned the engine received new pistons, rings, bearings, gaskets and seals.
It was also fitted with a Weiand intake manifold and fed by a nice new 600CFM edelbrock/ Webber carburetor. Very good little project and the customer is happy to be back out on the water just in time for summer.
Wrapping up another very busy day here at O.M.S..
Now is the time to get in and get your boats ready for a no stress summer!
Need a new trailer, no worries. O.M.S. has you covered. We now have Sea Trail trailers. Here's some pics of our first trailer.
After a solid couple of months in our care with time on and off it between several major jobs. VILLAN is looking the way it should. Large and in charge... It came in looking rather sad, chalky and dull.. The engine was in dire need of attention also. This was all tended to and has now been sold to a happy customer! ready to dominate the water in our local area.
Volvo penta V8 exhaust system.. Or was.
It is imperative that every year or two the exhaust system on a raw water cooled engine is opened and inspected for deterioration.
Neglecting this check can and will result in catastrophic engine failure.
For the cost of 2 cheap gaskets and an hour extra labour every 1 to 2 years on a service is a small price to pay to be safe compared to a rebuild or engine replacement.
This customer is quiet lucky 😁. Here at O.M.S we do not cut corners on your inboard or outboard servicing 🚤🚤
O.M.S. have had some much needed yard maintenance done. Ready for a busy summer if covid allows it.

A big girl came in for a detail. Here is the swim platform results. Ps the stainless fittings aren't detailed yet..
This bad boy is in for a full detail and preparation for sale.. Once we are done with it, all the buyer will have to do is hook it on, gas up and go! This is one serious cruiser with all the bells and whistles. 😎
Customer stated the engine was overheating, after several checks the only option left was to remove the powerhead and check for a condition known as "gromatitis" whereby the rubber grommet on top of the water pick up tube swells and restricts water flow to the powerhead. This is caused by age and or lack of flushing. Said motor is a 9.9 hp Johnson... At 34 years old it has held up well for so long. A testament to OMC quality. We got it all cleaned up with a new water pump, thermostat, grommet and gaskets to get it back in working order for another lease on life on the water at a reasonable cost!
We now stock Lion marine batteries!
Both standard and deep cycle ranging from 680 to 930 CCA.
These batteries pack more than enough punch to crank over your outboard or inboard motor with ease! We can special order any battery you specifically need for your application.
We also fit them for free!
Customer brought in his MerCruiser powered fishing boat for a multitude of issues ranging from no spark to a severely contaminated carburetor.
Upon dismantling the carburetor and finding the throttle shafts almost seized amongst other things, it's a miracle this 5.7L ran at all. The damage being so severe it was recommended we replace the unit and we did with a new 600 CFM Edelbrock marine carburetor. We also diagnosed the ignition sensor and coil to be faulty. After replacing these failed components the engine now runs as it should!
