Something to show the kids 🙂

The head weighs about 5 kg.
The neck supports the weight of the head, which, depending on the angle of the inclination, increases. The more we look down, the more our head weighs. Depending on the cervical segment taking the weight and stress, the weight of the head fluctuates within 5 kg, but if you lean it forward, it weighs more and more. When it is bent at 60 degrees, it loads 22-27 kg on lower cervical vertebrae and downwards into the thoracics. Indeed the entire spine.
What’s more, the plethora of supporting soft tissues, fascia, muscles, ligaments and tendons get strained and tired, which builds further tension on the joints and discs. If not now, then down the track this will impact the neck as it gets stiffer as well as the likelihood of creating problems elsewhere.
Take care using smartphones. We are fully absorbed by what is going on and we don't check our body position and what this little device can do to us over time.

R U Ok ??

Well, I don’t want to put a big picture up today. I would rather write how my last two weeks has been…

Up n down in short…. As some of you would know, my sons best friend ended his life two weeks ago
Then I had a person that I used to work with lose his daughter the following week …

So 2 people in two weeks
That were not coping 😢

I have had some wonderful people over the last two weeks constantly checking in with me making sure I’m ok, which I’m so grateful for 😘
The school has been contacting us as well to help my son through this tough time

If your not ok…. That’s ok ….

But please let someone know so that we ( someone) can help you. Everyone is important in this life it doesn’t matter how smart or dumb you are, what size or shape you are, boy or girl, race and color, if your wealthy or poor , young or older.

You are important and you are loved

It’s a long post today re Covid 19

As many of you are aware Im qualified as both a Remedial and Myotherapist

The current advice as a Myotherapist is as follows ⬇️⬇️⬇️

In light of further clarification the association sought more information from the Department of Health,
we now understand the recent directives for private practice myotherapy services as the following:

Routine care is not permitted

Telehealth services must be preferred as the first option for care delivery and provided where and as appropriate

Carefully assess your patient list and postpone care or refer care to Telehealth or other virtual care.

Face to face care should be considered only if providing essential clinical care where Telehealth services is not clinically appropriate.

What is defined as ‘essential clinical care’:
Essential clinical care only applies if face to face Myotherapy consultation/treatment will “prevent a significant change/deterioration in functional independence necessitating escalation of care (e.g. a requirement for specialist input/review, an increase in care needs and/or alternate accommodation, avoiding a hospital admission or emergency department presentation)”?

In short...

No routine treatments (or maintenance)

Only Telehealth available

The only time you are allowed to treat, is to keep someone out of hospital (acute stages)

So with this advice I will close the clinic for 7 days 🙃

I will answer my phone 😄 ( home schooling as well) so it may be noisy

Now all that’s left...... is to get the other presents to the other two old girls .... I wonder what their presents are 🙂🙃

Thanks to all of the diggers that gave their lives so we could have what we have today.

GPMMC will be closed over the Easter Break having some family time. The clinic will re open the second week of school holidays with limited hours 🙂

They say to give NEW things a go 😍

Well on the weekend, a friend and I did some Limestone sculptures. ( Geelong Art Society)

We started with a block and had to saw / chip/ file our way through to make our masterpieces.

It was a lovely beautiful day ( very dusty though ) the teacher and the other students where fantastic 😍

I love my finished piece, I just have to find somewhere to place it in the clinic ( it’s a candle holder)
