Renowned Author, Jacinta Brown, will be visiting on Friday 24 to showcase her new book, between 3pm - 4pm. Signed copies will be available to purchase. Jacinta is also one of our visiting authors for book week this year.

First Aid Focus Incursion

Last week, our Kindy to Year 6 students participated in the First Aid Focus incursion delivered by St John. (Unfortunately, classes that were scheduled for Tuesday have been rescheduled to Tuesday, 21 July.)

Throughout the sessions, students learned valuable first aid skills and gained confidence in how to recognise and respond to a range of emergency situations. They explored how to assess a situation, provide basic first aid and seek help for themselves or others when needed.

Experienced Community Education Officers led engaging, hands-on activities, demonstrating correct first aid techniques before giving students the opportunity to practise these important life-saving skills. The practical nature of the program encouraged students to apply their learning in realistic scenarios while reinforcing the importance of staying calm, making safe decisions and looking out for others.

Students also had the opportunity to: Develop and strengthen their resilience, build confidence in making safe decisions and managing risks, practise responding appropriately in emergency situations and learn how to promote the health, safety and wellbeing of themselves and others.

It was wonderful to see our students actively participating and enthusiastically practising their new skills. We thank St John for delivering such an engaging and worthwhile program, helping to equip our students with knowledge and confidence that could make a real difference one day.

On Thursday and Friday our year 5 & 6 students were offered the opportunity to participate in a new "Build it with Bunnings" program at Bunnings O'Connor. The students were tasked with the challenge to design an allocated room using only Bunnings products and a specific budget. The program drew on the students' ability to use skills from subjects such as English and Maths, as well as other skills such as budgeting, teamwork and problem solving to achieve the task.

Alternatively, if you child is absent from school without explanation a 10am SMS message from contact LeemingPS will be sent. Parents should use this link to add attendance notes about their child’s absence. Please note that the link will be valid for only 48 hours. Do not reply to this message via SMS as the school will not receive it. The school will then receive your response via the link provided. These are one-time links therefore if your child is absent again on another day without a prior explanation, parents will get a new link.

You will need your parent login; these were sent to all parents last year and new families on enrolment. If you can't find this, please don't hesitate to call admin on 9266 6700 and we can resend.
