Your pup’s best life starts here. 🐾🌊
Lately, the pack has been growing with some absolutely beautiful new puppies! But as a pet parent, it’s easy to think that a long walk is all your pup needs to tire out.
Here’s the truth: physical exercise is only half the equation.
True fulfillment comes from breed-specific enrichment activating their brains, satisfying their natural instincts, and building confidence. A walk is great, but a tailored “sniffari” or mental challenge is what truly creates a balanced, calm puppy.
Over the next few weeks, I’m going to break down exactly how to satisfy different breeds, but let’s look at the incredible mix of puppies starting their adventure journeys with us right now:
The Kelpie (8 Months): A natural working breed. A simple walk won’t touch their stamina! They need mental “jobs”advanced trick training, tracking games, and focus exercises to keep them satisfied.
The Staffy (8 Months): Strong, tactile, and deeply people-oriented. They benefit massively from sensory chew enrichment, heavy-duty tug games, and decompression sniffs to lower arousal levels.
The Cavoodle (4 Months): Eager, sensitive, and smart. At this crucial age, enrichment means gentle confidence-building exploring new textures, low-impact foraging mats, and positive environmental exposure.
The Groodle (6 Months): Highly intelligent and eager to please. They thrive on retrieving games, puzzle feeders, and nose-work to channel that clever poodle-retriever brain.
The Boxer (6 Months): High energy and incredibly playful. They love physical coordination games, agility-style play, and structured socialization to burn off that bouncy joy.
Every dog is wired differently. When we match their physical adventures with the right mental stimulation, we don’t just get a tired puppy, we get a happy, fulfilled, and well-behaved family member.
✨ Want to level up your pup’s routine? Stay tuned as we dive deep into each breed’s specific blueprint over the coming days!

Happy Sunday ☀️
For those of you who are new here.
Hi, I’m Jessica, Founder & Pack Leader of Salty Pups, and this handsome boy next to me is Kobe, our Chief Dog Officer.
He is the reason I found my way here. The reason I took the leap, followed my gut, and never looked back.
This weekend I attended trainer development with IMDT Australia and honestly, it felt like the perfect full stop on what has been the most incredible week for Salty Pups. New clients, new trust, new beginnings.
To every single person who has chosen me to care for their pup, thank you. From the bottom of my heart. When you support a small business, you’re not just booking a service. You’re supporting someone’s dream. My dream.
And I promise I will always show up for your dogs the way Kobe showed up for me. 🐾
Stay Salty,
Jessica & Kobe 🖤
Hard work pays off! 🏆 Kobe’s CDO (Chief Dog Officer) duties reached an all-time high this week after onboarding 4 new salty pups. The reward? A legendary pup cup from Little H.
10/10 management skills. 🐾🍦

New pup alert: Jet the 4-month-old Cavoodle! 🌊
Twenty minutes on the clock! That’s the golden rule for Jet right now, it’s recommended 5 minutes of walking per month of age to keep puppy joints safe and healthy.
But don’t let the short walks fool you, this clever boy is getting a massive workout between the ears. We’re channeling all that puppy energy into essential life skills: mastering his sit, practicing his stay, and working on a bulletproof recall.
Beauty, brains, and the best curls in town. Welcome, Jet! 🐾

Officially under the Gus-pell. 🍯✨
Say hello to our newest Salty Pup, Gus! He’s 8 years young and possesses the energy of a puppy who just discovered espresso.
Our first solo adventure was an absolute dream, if you subtract the brief moments he decided to play “catch me if you can.” Spoiler alert: my treats win every single time. He knows exactly where the good stuff is. 🍖😉
He loves rolling in the grass, living his best coastal life, and stealing hearts. Social pack walks are next on the horizon for this handsome boy!

It finally happened. Both of them. Looking at the camera. At the exact same time. 🤯
Getting these two to coordinate a photoshoot usually feels like a full-time job, but all it took today was a little “ball magic” held right above the lens!
👉 Swipe right for the cute solo shots of them completely ignoring me right before this moment.
If you follow Salty Pups, you probably know that we generally don’t encourage ball play during our sessions, especially for our younger pups. Why? Because ball throwers can inadvertently trigger:
High Arousal Levels: Over-excitement can quickly shift a peaceful pack dynamic into chaotic over-stimulation.
Resource Guarding: Toys can become high-value items that cause unnecessary tension or possessiveness between dogs.
Repetitive Strain: High-speed chasing, sudden breaking, and tight turns aren’t always great for developing joints.
However... Rules can have thoughtful exceptions! 😉
These two are slightly more senior members of the crew. They’ve got the maturity, the solid relationship, and the impulse control to handle the sight of a tennis ball without losing their cool. And honestly? If bending the rules for a split second cracks a simultaneous smile out of these two beautiful faces, we’ll take it.
Grateful for these happy moments (and the rare photo evidence)! 🐶❤️
Hey everyone, I’d like to introduce you to someone incredibly special. He’s not new around here, but he definitely deserves his own permanent spot on the grid. 🌊🐾
Gavin’s cousins, Ollie and Lola, are Salty Pups OG’s, so when we needed a content day for the gram, I was lucky enough to have Gavin come along for the ride. He had so much fun that his Aunty has officially let him join in on the Salty Pups pack adventures!
We’re convinced he’s the real-life Benjamin Button because since Ollie and Lola moved in and joining the pack, he’s just glowing with youth! 🌟
I’m supposed to be an unbiased pack leader, but I’ve gotta admit... Gavin has stolen a massive piece of my heart. ❤️🔥

🐾 Doggy Body Language 101: Is your pup speaking “Peace” or feeling stressed?
Ever wonder what’s actually going on in that gorgeous furry head of theirs? Our dogs are constantly talking to us, but instead of words, they use their entire bodies.
Understanding these subtle cues is the ultimate superpower for any dog owner or pack leader. It helps us protect their boundaries, set them up for success, and know exactly when they need a little extra space or support!
Here are a few fascinating, lesser-known body language facts from the infographic above:
✨ The “Peace” Signs (Calming Signals)
Did you know that when a dog sniffs the ground out of nowhere, or turns their head away when another dog approaches, they are actually saying “Hey, I come in peace!”? These are natural calming signals used to diffuse tension and show respect.
✨ The Secret Stress Signals
A yawn isn’t always because they’re sleepy, and a quick nose lick isn’t always about food. In social settings, these are often micro-signs of stress or anxiety.
✨ The “Shake Off”
Ever see a dog give a massive, full-body shake even though they aren’t wet? That’s a “stress release”! It’s a fantastic mechanism they use to literally shake off adrenaline after a tense moment or an intense play session.
The more we learn to read their language, the safer, happier, and more confident our pups will be on every single adventure. 🌊
Which of these signals does your pup use the most? Let us know below! 👇🏼

And honestly, can we talk about the style game here? We are absolutely obsessed with them rocking their matching checkered jumpers on their adventures. 🧥✨
