News from the Northern Territory:
Due to insufficient nomination allocations received from the Australian Government for the current program year (2023-24), the NT is currently unable to accept new applications for subclass 190 nominations

From 1 July 2023, student visa holders can work up to 48 hours per fortnight during study terms and semesters (up from 40 hours previously).
*Student visa holders already working in the aged care sector on 9 May 2023 can continue to work unrestricted hours until 31 December 2023.

Work hours limit for student visa holders to be re-introduced From 1 July 2023, the number of work hours allowed during study terms and semesters will be capped at the increased rate of 48 hours per fortnight.
408 COVID visa for two years
If you are a Temporary Graduate (subclass 485) visa (TGV) holder in Australia, you may apply for and be granted a Pandemic event visa with a 2-year period of stay, instead of a TGV extension, if:
- your TGV expires before 1 July 2023
- you are not eligible to apply for a TGV extension on 1 July 2023
- you currently have an unfinalised 408 Pandemic event visa application, and you held a TGV at the time you made that application.
