ESC Engineering delivered the electrical services design for Koombana Apartments — a premium mixed-use development combining commercial, residential, and lifestyle spaces within one coastal address.

The project consisted of a commercial ground floor, first-floor car parking, and residential apartments across Levels 2 to 4, designed to provide flexible apartment fit-outs and expansive water views for residents.

Working across a mixed-use environment required careful coordination between services, functionality, and architectural intent to support a high-quality outcome throughout the development.

ESC Engineering completed the code compliance upgrade for the heritage-listed Fremantle Town Hall — a project that carefully balanced modern compliance requirements with the preservation of a 140-year-old landmark. 🏛️

Delivered in 2025 as part of a $2M upgrade, the project included investigation of the existing infrastructure, along with the design and documentation of upgraded electrical and fire detection systems for integration into the adjoining Civic Centre. The upstairs seating and lighting were also upgraded as part of the works.

Heritage projects always come with their own complexities, requiring thoughtful coordination and attention to detail at every stage. Working within the existing architectural constraints while maintaining compliance standards was a key focus throughout the project.

A fantastic result for the wider design team, successfully connecting a historic civic building with a modern facility while preserving the character and significance of one of Fremantle’s most iconic spaces.

ESC Engineering delivered the electrical, communications, and security services design for the new Esperance Indoor Sports Stadium — a facility built to support a growing regional community.

This $8M development goes beyond a typical sports hall, providing a dedicated hub for the Town of Esperance to host everything from junior training to regional tournaments.

The facility features four full-size courts with sprung timber flooring, along with match-day amenities, changerooms, kiosks, and dedicated club storage — all designed for flexibility and long-term use.

ESC Engineering supported the refurbishment of delivering electrical design solutions that align with both current upgrades and future demand.

The project includes a new Cycle Studio, Crèche, Wellness Studio change rooms, amenities, staff facilities, and an extension to the existing gym.

Working within an existing facility meant the electrical systems needed to evolve without unnecessary overhaul. Our approach focused on integrating new loads efficiently, upgrading where needed, and allowing capacity for future growth — while keeping outcomes practical and cost-effective.

ESC Engineering is proud to be contributing to one of Western Australia’s most exciting community infrastructure projects: the new Swan Active Ellenbrook leisure centre for the City of Swan.

This $145M development, being delivered by ADCO Constructions, will become a major hub for health, fitness and recreation in the Ellenbrook Town Centre. The facility will feature a regional-level aquatic centre, indoor and outdoor pools, water slides, wellness amenities, sports courts, a fully equipped gym, and vibrant community spaces — all targeting a 5-Star Green Star rating. ⭐

ESC has been engaged to deliver the security and solar design for the complex, ensuring both safety and sustainability are embedded from the ground up. We’re also pleased to continue supporting the City of Swan in a client-side advisory role throughout the duration of the D&C contract.
