It’s called ‘FASHION,’ Dr Jacob!

The Fetch Mobile Vets team knows the importance of getting creative when a patient is determined to lick their wounds or a skin infection. Poor Charm, I don't think she liked Dr Jacob's fashion choices, but it certainly did the job and kept her safe! 🐾

We make sure your pet's health comes first, whatever it takes (even a questionable T-shirt knot)!

Some of you may already be aware that Dr Jacob lost his dad suddenly last week.

During this difficult period, Dr Jacob is focussing on spending time with his family and celebrating the life of his father.

Our deepest condolences are with Dr Jacob and his family at this time. For emergencies, please contact Port City Emergency Vet. For future appointment availability, please go to fetchmobilevets.com.au

The question Dr. Jacob gets asked most often is: "What is the hardest part of your job?"

Without hesitation, the answer is always saying goodbye 🌈

It is a heavy time for everyone involved, but Dr. Jacob finds peace in knowing that we are letting them go for the right reasons. Our furry family members don’t always understand why they are hurting, and sometimes, the kindest gift we can give them is a peaceful end to their suffering.

Last week, we said goodbye to a very special friend, Elvis 🐾

After being diagnosed with severe arthritis two years ago, we worked closely with his family to manage his pain and maintain his mobility. Eventually, despite all treatments, Elvis’s body was tired. His family made the incredibly difficult, selfless decision to let him go.

Before he passed, Elvis lived like a king: he had a professional photoshoot with his humans and a feast of all his favourite treats 🍔

Rest easy, Elvis. It was an honour to care for you.

Proud mum 'Mango' 🐾

Dr Jacob had the best morning hanging out with Mango and her 8 gorgeous Golden Retriever pups. It was a busy session getting the whole crew checked over, vaccinated, and microchipped, but they all passed with flying colors. They were very tired for their photo!

Big thanks to Mango for being such a superstar mum, and to her owners for taking such incredible care of them. These little ones are officially ready for their new homes!

✨ Congratulations Dr Jacob! ✨

We’re overjoyed to share that Dr Jacob and his wife have welcomed their beautiful new daughter into the world! 💕
Mum, Dad, and baby are all doing well and resting comfortably in hospital.

As you can imagine, Fetch Mobile Vets’ availability will be a little limited over the next few days while Dr Jacob spends some precious time with his family. Please check our website for current availability, and thank you for your patience if we’re a little slower to answer the phone.

🐾 Meet Onyx!
She’s our second patient today treated by Dr Jacob for a grass seed pe*******on 🌾

Grass seeds are everywhere right now in Perth, and they can cause real trouble for pets! Luckily, Onyx’s seed was partly exposed, so Dr Jacob could remove it easily. But most seeds burrow deep under the skin — causing painful swelling and infection.

🌱 Did you know? Grass seeds act like tiny arrows — they only move one way and keep digging deeper when your pet moves around!

At Fetch Mobile Vets, we recommend:
✅ Checking your pet’s coat daily
✂️ Keeping their coat short during the warmer months
🚑 Contacting us quickly if you spot a lump or suspect a seed

Early treatment makes a big difference!

Should pets be allowed in aged care? - ABC listen 03/11/2025

🐾 Pets in Aged Care 🐾

At Fetch Mobile Vets, we see every day the incredible impact pets have on the wellbeing of older Australians. Companionship, comfort, and routine — pets bring joy and purpose, especially for those in aged care.

ABC’s The Conversation Hour recently discussed the importance of allowing pets in aged-care settings, highlighting how animals can reduce stress, ease loneliness, and support mental and physical health.

As a mobile vet clinic, we regularly visit pets living in aged care and see first-hand the huge benefit they bring to residents’ happiness and wellbeing.
