Kilvington Racing season recap!

For Ashton it was a very short season (only 1 event) which was the all bike nationals in Adelaide,
After the last season in Perth we gave the motor a strip and freshen up while preparing the bike for the upcoming season and changed the gearbox out for an auto 1-2, 6 speed gearbox which showed improvements in 330 foot time, a string of 8.6 and 8.7 sec passes in Adelaide left us happy and now it’s time to prepare the bike for the nitrous to come back on with some other changes before the upcoming season.

Riley’s season recap on an amazing season, here’s what he had to say and a little reflection on his time in junior bike before he steps it up to the bigger ranks next season 🤫

After a great first season in jb in Perth we werent planning to travel for this season but about a week before nitro up north we got a message asking if I could come up to make a class so we couldn’t turn down this opportunity a massive thanks to Hawkeye Motorsport for providing the bike for me to ride. So we headed to Darwin for my first time and it did not disappoint winning the event in very trying conditions and on a bike I had never ridden before

We came home from Darwin first in the Andra championship at this point I had no interest in chasing it but after some discussions with dad we decided to compete at Mildura for the junior nationals this time we made the trip over with the Ferguson family so I could race my own bike again once again it was my first time at this track and I went in with high hopes and those high hopes where achieved with me winning the Saturday which was the Andra round and then making the final on the Sunday which was a pro tree day round

Next stop was tailem bend for the all bike nationals this event was successful in ways but not the event we wanted I cut some decent lights there but lost in the 2nd round after missing gears

December comes by and the Raschellas where kind enough to keep my bike at the home in Adelaide after the all bike round because at that point I was in with a shot at the championship so we decided to enter south coast nationals at Portland this was a really fun event at a track that I haven’t ever watched racing at or raced at I set new pbs here but unfortunately with lack of experience at that track went out round 1

New years at Portland!! This event would have to be one of my favourites second time at the track and a New Year’s party we went into the event just hoping to go rounds and we did exactly that made it into the final and got the win this put me on max Andra points of 300 plus my bonus points from making finals

Came back to Perth had a little bit of a break but then end of March we where back to the bend for riverbend nationals such a good vibe at this track and the event went solid all thought we didn’t make the final I still had heaps of fun which is what it’s all about we where planning for this to be my last event in juniors…

Andra gf comes along and where sitting towards the top of the points in second, we tested on Friday night and went really well being very consistent and went 00 3 times in a row this really boosted my confidence going into Saturday but unfortunately in round 1 we took the loss and that was the championship gone.
