🤝 Our People Are Our Business 💛
At ORCA Recruitment, we undertake bi-annual reviews with each of our team members.
These catch-ups are about so much more than performance. They give us the opportunity to understand where our people are at in life, what their career goals look like, and how we can help them get there through training, mentoring and upskilling opportunities.
Our crews are spread far and wide across Western Australia, so sometimes the distances involved can be significant. Rather than a formal office meeting, we often meet halfway, grab a feed together and have a genuine conversation about what matters most.
We firmly believe that taking the time to listen, understand personal circumstances and support individual career aspirations creates stronger people, stronger teams and ultimately a stronger business.
The crane industry is built on relationships, and we’re proud to invest in ours.
💛 Thanks to every member of the ORCA pod for your continued commitment, honesty and trust. We’re excited to be part of your journey and look forward to growing together.
“Redefining Recruitment”

We're incredibly proud to feature in the latest edition of Cranes & Lifting, with an editorial highlighting the ORCA Recruitment journey and our vision for supporting Australia's crane and lifting industry. The magazine is recognised as one of the industry's leading publications across Australia and New Zealand.
What started as an idea between industry people who believed there was a better way to support clients and workforce alike has grown into a business we're genuinely proud of.
A huge thank you to our clients, crew members, industry partners and supporters who have backed us along the way. Your trust is what allows us to keep growing and creating opportunities across the crane, rigging and shutdown sectors.
If you get a chance, have a read of the article via the link below and let us know what you think.

🌧️ Wet weather or not, the work doesn’t stop.
Behind the scenes, we’re continuing to invest in our people by providing regular internal training sessions and creating genuine pathways for career progression.
One thing we’ve noticed throughout our industry is that many people hold the relevant High Risk Work Licences but haven’t yet had the opportunity to put those skills into practice and gain valuable hands-on experience. We’re committed to helping bridge that gap.
This week’s session focused on Franna crane operations, supporting our experienced riggers as they progress into the seat, while also developing our newer team members entering the rigging field.
We’re incredibly proud of what we’re building at ORCA and the culture of learning, mentoring and continuous improvement that exists within the pod.
A huge thank you to Lloyd Bucci for facilitating another informative and engaging session and well done to everyone who got involved.
We’d also like to give a massive shout-out to Jen and the team at ABC Crane Hire for generously allowing us to utilise their yard and crane facilities for the day. Support like this plays a huge role in developing the next generation of industry professionals and is greatly appreciated.
Another special mention goes to Ryan Greaves who volunteered his time as our operator and crane instructor for the session. Ryan’s knowledge, patience and willingness to share his experience made the day a tremendous success for everyone involved.
This industry is built on good people helping good people, and we’re grateful to have such strong support around us.

Wise words from the GM Harley Moad.
I don't see employees - I see talent.
In the crane industry, it's up to experienced leaders to develop the next generation. That's why I've implemented internal upskilling days, self-assessments, and performance reviews to identify gaps and create career pathways for growth.
Nobody goes from a Franna to a 300-ton crane overnight, and nobody goes from rigger to shutdown supervisor in a day. Growth comes through experience, training, and mentorship.
When we say we're redefining recruitment, we mean it. We're not just filling roles,we're building talent, creating opportunities, and developing careers that strengthen the future of our industry.

Last week, our growth manager Andre Bucci hit the road and headed north to Geraldton to catch up with valued clients, meet new industry contacts, and strengthen relationships across the region.
At ORCA, spending time with our clients and industry partners face to face is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do. Getting out from behind the desk, having genuine conversations, and gaining a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities our clients experience every day helps us continue to deliver the service and support they deserve.
The crane and construction industries are built on strong relationships, and we’re proud to be part of a network of operators, riggers, supervisors, managers, business owners, and industry professionals who help keep projects moving across Western Australia.
A big thank you to everyone who took the time to meet with us during the trip. We appreciate the ongoing support and look forward to continuing to build strong partnerships and growing the ORCA network throughout WA.
