I am so excited to invite you to come and join Western Australia’s animal welfare advocates for a critical update on Australia’s journey toward a unified voice for animals, approached through a One Welfare lens.
Hosted by Veterinary and Community Care and the Future of Food, supported by Australian Alliance for Animals, together we will:
🌏introduce the One Welfare model that recognises that animal welfare, human well-being, and environmental sustainability are inseparable
🗣have an update on the national and state progress towards an independent voice for animals
🐾share specific insights on this voice and explore how WA’s unique perspective can help shape the priorities, scope, and deliverables for state progress.
This is your first chance to explore, examine and contribute to a vision that will amplify advocacy for animals through One Welfare at two levels, in our state and across our nation.
Limited Places, so book now: https://www.trybooking.com/DGOPQ

Pet food is largely an unregulated industry. Replacing meat (especially Kangaroo meat) with alternative protein sources is more healthy and good for animals and the planet.
Recommended as a cogent source of evidence, Prof Andrew Knight’s many scientific studies on pet food.
A recent study published in Nature found harmful, antibiotic-resistant pathogens like Salmonella, Cronobacter, and E. coli in commercial raw cat foods, posing health risks to pets and humans, especially vulnerable groups. Many products lack warnings about the dangers of undercooked ingredients, according to author and researcher Dr. Laura Goodman, Ph.D. ’07, assistant professor in the Department of Public and Ecosystem Health and in The Baker Institute for Animal Health in the College of Veterinary Medicine.
