It turns out getting outside of your comfort zone in a big way - is worth it! As with anything it's never easy, but it was totally worth it.
Last week I had the opportunity to speak at Perth Unfiltered and share a personal story I had never spoken about publicly before.
It was such a powerful experience being in a room full of people willing to be real, vulnerable and human. The energy in the space reminded me how much stories connect us when we drop the filters and speak honestly.
If you ever get the chance to attend one of their events, I highly recommend it. Five speakers. Five minutes. Five stories. One shared experience.
Their next Perth event is coming up in August and tickets are available here: https://events.humanitix.com/perth-unfiltered

Speaking tomorrow at Perth Unfiltered… and it’s officially sold out.
There’s now a waitlist (I’ll drop the link below if you still want to try your luck).
I’ll be sharing a story I’ve never actually said out loud before. Not in a room, not on a stage… nowhere.
Because stories like this… they’re the ones we often keep to ourselves.
The messy parts, the vulnerable parts. The parts that don’t feel polished or “ready”.
But they’re also the parts that humanise us. They’re what bring people together and what creates real connection.
That’s what Perth Unfiltered is about. Real stories. Raw. Unfiltered.

I like to stay up to date with what is going on in the world - for the big stuff at least. (I don't listen to mainstream media though, I have other sources). But lately it's getting too much. I have found it to be distracting, confusing and frankly not serving me in a good way.
As a business leader, I believe it's my duty to look after me as well. My nervous system, my health and my vitality all effect my ability to show up for my business and for others.
So I have decided to step back in a controlled and mindful way. Not from responsibility, but from the noise around it. Because as leaders, we don’t get paid to absorb chaos, we get paid to lead through it. And that requires something very different.
Clarity, presence and inner alignment. You can’t access any of that when your attention is constantly being pulled outward.
So I’ve consciously reduced what I’m consuming. Created space again and come back inward.
This is the work - inner Alignment. Because leadership isn’t about reacting to everything happening around you. It’s about staying anchored within yourself while it’s happening.
If your attention is scattered, your leadership will be too.
Not everything deserves your attention. Protect it.

Sustainable leadership is something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately. And it’s not something you hear about or that’s discussed openly in the office.
This is important, not just a concept, because it’s a pattern I keep seeing.
Leaders who are doing incredibly well on the outside… but the way they’re operating underneath it all isn’t something they could actually sustain long term.
And the interesting part is, it’s not a capability issue. It’s not that they can’t handle it.
Most of them have been handling it for a long time. But there’s a difference between holding something for a period of time… and building something your system can actually live inside.
What I’m noticing is how normalised it’s become to override ourselves in order to keep performing. This was me. I could push through no matter what, hold more, stay switched on for as long as it took for the work to be done… but is it ever?
And it works… until it doesn’t. Not always in a dramatic way either, sometimes it’s subtle.
But guess what else happens. Clarity drops, patience shortens, decisions feel heavier than they should. And over time, something just feels… off. For me, I had a deep, empty feeling that never went away.
This is where the conversation needs to shift. Because where the misunderstanding lies, people tend to assume that sustainable leadership is about doing less or stepping back. That’s not it at all.
It’s about the way you’re leading actually being supported by how you’re wired, how you think, and the state you’re operating from. When that’s there, capacity expands. When it’s not, everything starts to cost more than it should.
And most people don’t realise it until they’re already feeling it. We’re living in a noisy and overloaded world. It’s time for leaders to embrace leading from a place of inner alignment. Only then will they be able to do the real work they’re here to do and maintain sustained performance.

Last week I had the pleasure of attending an International Women’s Day event hosted by French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
I was invited as a guest, and I want to sincerely thank Melina Beguin for the gracious invitation. It was a beautifully curated event with a strong sense of connection, intention, and leadership in the room.
Two of the speakers really stayed with me.
Nicole Lockwood spoke about leadership from within first. It was refreshing, grounded, and deeply aligned with what I see in my own work. The reminder that true leadership starts internally, not externally, is something I believe we need more of right now.
And Rebecca Beardsley spoke about leading from our values and purpose, also shaping your career and priorities for family together. Again, such an important message. In a world that is moving fast and becoming more complex, coming back to what truly matters is not just helpful, it is essential.
For those who may not know, the French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry plays an important role in connecting business communities between France and Australia, creating opportunities for collaboration, leadership, and growth across industries. Events like this are a great example of that impact in action. I highly recommended checking out their events.
I left feeling both inspired and reaffirmed, there is a clear shift happening.
Leadership is moving inward. And the leaders who are willing to do that work will shape what comes next.
Thank you again for having me. I will definitely be back.

Many women today are doing incredibly well on the outside…but quietly feeling stretched, overwhelmed or disconnected on the inside.
Next week I’ll be speaking at WE Inspire Coffee & Connect North. I’ll be sharing some of my own journey and talking about the work I do through Aligned Success, where I support business owners, executives and professional women to create success that performs at a high level and also feels sustainable.
Over the years I’ve worked across elite sport, business ownership, international expansion and now executive and leadership coaching. One thing has become very clear to me. Success that only looks good on the outside eventually comes at a cost.
When leaders reconnect with their values, create healthy boundaries and operate from inner alignment, everything changes. Their leadership strengthens, their businesses grow in healthier ways and life starts to feel better again.
If you’re local and would like to spend a morning connecting with a thoughtful group of women in business, I’d love you to join us.

IA is the leadership model we should be focusing on right now. Inner Alignment.
As we step into the Year of the Fire Horse, I cannot ignore the symbolism. Last year carried the energy of the Snake, shedding, releasing and outgrowing old skins that no longer fit. Many leaders felt it...the discomfort, recalibration.
The quiet questioning of who they are becoming. The Fire Horse is different. The Fire Horse is power in motion. Strength, presence, forward momentum that cannot be contained.
But fire without alignment burns out. This is where IA comes in. Inner Alignment is the difference between reactive intensity and grounded power. It is the difference between charging ahead unconsciously and moving with clarity, conviction and control.
In a world accelerating through Artificial Intelligence, speed is no longer the advantage. Depth is, regulation is, self awareness is. The Fire Horse does not ask for permission. It knows its strength.
Aligned leaders are the same.
They are not loud for the sake of visibility. They are steady and they are anchored. They know who they are before the pressure hits.
Artificial Intelligence will continue to reshape our systems. Inner Alignment will determine who can hold the reins. This year is not about running faster.
It is about leading stronger from within.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.

Lately, I’ve been receiving some really thoughtful messages about Balanced Success. Not just kind words, but stories about how people are actually using the concepts in their day to day lives.
Small things, practical things & powerful things.
People are:
• Building short exercise sessions into their day instead of waiting for the “perfect” time
• Taking intentional 5 minute pauses to stop, breathe, and reset
• Scheduling personal priorities as non negotiables, not afterthoughts
• Being more present with their families by creating clear boundaries outside work hours
None of these changes are dramatic on their own. But implemented consistently over time, they create something meaningful. A life that feels more aligned more intentional and more sustainable.
That is exactly what Balanced Success is about. The book isn’t about doing more or pushing harder. It’s about leading yourself first. Aligning how you live, work, and make decisions so success doesn’t come at the cost of your health, relationships, or sense of self.
I wrote it from lived experience. There was a time in my life when success looked good on the outside, but internally I was constantly switched on, exhausted, and disconnected. I was building businesses, leading teams, and chasing growth, while quietly running on empty.
What changed everything wasn’t one big breakthrough. It was learning how to recalibrate daily. To value energy, alignment, and clarity as much as performance. To make small, intentional choices that compounded over time.
That philosophy is what shaped this book.
If you’re a leader, business owner, or professional who wants success that actually feels good on the inside, this book was written for you.
Balanced Success is available now.
You can find it via on Amazon: https://lnkd.in/gWZ65vcU
Or email me for a signed copy: [email protected]
And if you’ve read it and made even one small change that’s helped you feel more grounded or aligned, I’d genuinely love to hear about it.
Because this work only matters when it’s lived.

Growth often comes with chaos.
New clients arrive faster than systems can handle. Decisions get made with incomplete information. Everything feels urgent, and the pace never quite slows down.
Some chaos is normal when a business is growing. In fact, it can be a sign that you are stretching into something bigger.
But chaos cannot become the way you operate.
When chaos turns into the default, it slowly erodes clarity, creativity, and calm ex*****on. Leaders end up living in reaction mode. Teams lose focus. Mistakes increase. The business keeps moving, but it stops moving well.
I learned this the hard way while leading a fast-scaling IT company in New York. Chaos became my baseline. I woke up every day feeling it in my body. Tight chest. Racing mind. Constant pressure. For a long time, I thought that was just what leadership required.
It wasn’t.
Now, with so much uncertainty in the world and rapid change driven by AI, clarity has never been more important. Leaders need to intentionally create environments where people can think, focus, and do their best work, even inside pressure.
I’ve written a deeper article about the difference between healthy stretch and chronic chaos, what chaos quietly damages over time, and why clarity is a non-negotiable leadership skill for sustainable success.
If you’re leading through growth right now and feel like everything is urgent, this may resonate.
