Evolved Mind Body
Mary Jugov-Janiec
Kinesiologist + Mind-Body Practitioner
Supporting women through stress, overwhelm, hormone health and general wellbeing.
Kinesiology works with more than just symptoms.
It looks at the whole person — physical, emotional, mental and energetic — because everything in the body is connected. ✨
Adenomyosis is a perfect example of this.
While many women experience the physical symptoms of pain, heavy periods, fatigue and inflammation, it can also impact emotional wellbeing, stress levels, relationships, confidence, nervous system regulation and libido.
When the body is constantly in pain or survival mode, it makes sense that other areas of life can begin to feel affected too.
Rather than separating these experiences, kinesiology works holistically to support the body as a whole. Sessions may help identify underlying stress patterns stored within the nervous system while supporting the body back into balance in a gentle and supportive way.
Through regular sessions, this beautiful client experienced improvements not only physically, but also emotionally — feeling calmer within herself, more connected to her body, reduced pain and noticing positive changes in libido and overall wellbeing. 🤍
Healing is rarely just physical. The body, mind and nervous system are always working together.

That’s a really common question—and a fair one.
Kinesiology touches on emotions, stress patterns, or past experiences, but it’s not about forcing you to relive anything uncomfortable or overwhelming. In fact, one of the core principles of kinesiology is working with your nervous system at a pace that feels safe and supportive for you.
You might become aware of certain thoughts, feelings, or patterns, but you’re always in control of how much you share and how deeply you go. A kinesiologist will guide the session in a way that feels contained, grounded, and respectful of your boundaries.
When emotions come up, it’s usually because your body is ready to process and release them - moving stress stored in your subconscious into your consciousness.
Many clients typically leave feeling lighter, calmer, and more connected to themselves rather than confronted.

There’s a point where pushing through just doesn’t work anymore.
Where you’ve done the journalling, tried to “think more positively,” maybe even had the conversations… and yet your body still feels wired, exhausted, or overwhelmed.
That’s because stress isn’t just something you think your way out of.
It’s something your body experiences.
When you’ve been in a constant state of doing, holding it all together, or managing everyone else… your nervous system adapts. It learns to stay switched on.
And over time, that can look like:
– feeling tired but unable to rest
– a mind that won’t slow down
– reacting more than you’d like too
– or just not feeling like yourself anymore
This isn’t a lack of willpower.
It’s a body that hasn’t had the chance to fully switch off.
Mind-body healing works differently.
Instead of trying to override what you’re feeling, it gently works with your system—helping your body come back into a state of safety, regulation, and balance.
When your body starts to feel safe again…things begins to shift.
If you’ve been feeling stuck in stress or burnout, this might be the missing piece 🤍

What you experience in the world around you isn’t random—it’s often a reflection of what’s happening beneath the surface within you. Your thoughts, beliefs, and emotional patterns quietly shape how you see, respond to, and even attract your circumstances.
When you begin to shift internally—whether that’s softening self-judgment, releasing old stories, or choosing more supportive beliefs—you may notice your external world subtly changing too. Not because everything outside suddenly becomes perfect, but because your lens, your energy, and your responses start to evolve.
This quote is a gentle reminder of the power you hold. The more awareness you bring to your inner world, the more intentionally you can shape your outer world. ⭐
When you’re in perimenopause and feel like you can’t switch off… it’s not just in your head—and it’s not a lack of discipline.
There are real biological changes happening in your body that directly affect your nervous system.
During this phase, hormones like oestrogen and progesterone don’t decline in a smooth, predictable way—they fluctuate.
And both of these hormones play an important role in how your brain and body regulate stress.
Oestrogen helps support neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine, which influence mood, emotional stability, and your ability to feel calm and resilient. It also interacts with your stress response system (the HPA axis), helping to buffer how strongly your body reacts to stress.
Progesterone, on the other hand, has a more directly calming effect. It interacts with GABA receptors in the brain—these are the same pathways involved in slowing brain activity and promoting relaxation and sleep.
As progesterone levels begin to drop or become inconsistent, that natural calming influence is reduced.
So what does this mean in real life?
It can look like:
• Feeling “wired but tired”
• A mind that won’t switch off at night
• Increased anxiety or irritability
• Feeling more overwhelmed by things that once felt manageable
• Struggling to fully relax, even when you have the time
Your nervous system is essentially becoming more sensitive and more reactive, while having less of the hormonal support that once helped regulate it.
So when you try to “just relax,” your body may not be able to meet you there straight away.
This is why working with your nervous system becomes so important.
Instead of forcing stillness, it can help to:
– move your body before resting
– use gentle breathwork to signal safety
– ground through your senses
– create small moments of regulation throughout the day
And for deeper support, modalities like kinesiology can help identify and release underlying stress patterns held in the body—supporting your system to find its way back to balance.
If this resonates, you’re not alone in this 🤍
Being yourself sounds simple… but for many of us, it’s actually something we’ve had to learn.
Somewhere along the way, we picked up the idea that we needed to adjust, filter, or shrink parts of who we are to fit in, keep the peace, or be accepted.
So if you find it hard to fully show up as you around other people — you’re not alone.
Your system learnt what it needed to feel safe at the time.
But here’s the thing…
You don’t have to become a completely different person overnight.
It can start small.
✨ Speaking a little more honestly
✨ Letting yourself be seen, even if it feels uncomfortable
✨ Not over-explaining or over-apologising
✨ Allowing your quirks, opinions, and personality to exist
And if that feels hard — meet yourself with compassion, not criticism.
You’re unlearning years of conditioning, not failing at being yourself.
There’s no such thing as “perfectly authentic.”
There’s just you — showing up, as you are, in this moment 🤍
Happy Thursday everyone!
Another amazing day in clinic working on back pain, nervous system and bloating.

The conversation you have with yourself every day matters more than you realise.
It’s not just passing thoughts—your inner voice is constantly shaping how you feel, how you respond, and how you see yourself. Over time, your brain starts to take these repeated messages as truth, forming patterns that can either support you or keep you stuck.
If your self-talk tends to be critical or harsh, it can quietly reinforce stress, self-doubt, and that underlying feeling of not being “enough.” But when it shifts to something more supportive and compassionate, it creates space for resilience, confidence, and a greater sense of ease within yourself.
This isn’t about pretending everything is positive or ignoring real emotions. It’s about awareness—starting to notice the language you use and gently choosing something that feels more supportive.
Small shifts in how you speak to yourself can create powerful changes in everyday life.

I don’t know about you, but life has been full lately.
Today was no different — clinic, washing, dinner prep, tidy up, parent-teacher meetings, popping in to see the folks, plus an online masterclass squeezed in somewhere along the way.
From the outside, it could’ve easily been one of those “stressful” days.
But it wasn’t.
And honestly, the reason comes back to how I started the day.
Before the to-do list kicked in, I gave myself something first:
– 20 minutes of meditation
– A weights session at the gym
Did I feel like it? Not really.
I could’ve stayed in bed.
It would’ve been easier to roll over and tell myself I’d do it later.
But I also know this — when I start the day already depleted, everything feels harder.
More reactive. More overwhelming. Less enjoyable.
That small pocket of self-care? It shifted everything.
I felt clearer.
Calmer.
More present in each moment — instead of constantly trying to catch up.
And it doesn’t have to be big or perfect.
Filling your cup can look like:
– Sitting in silence before the house wakes up
– Moving your body, even for 10 minutes
– Stepping outside for fresh air
– Saying no to something that drains you
– Eating a proper meal instead of rushing through the day
– Taking a few deep breaths between tasks
It’s easy to think we’ll take care of ourselves after everything else is done…
but most days, that moment never comes.
So maybe the shift is this:
take a moment to do something for yourself.
Everything begins to feel different when you’re not running on empty
💛

Kinesiology doesn’t replace what you’re already doing—it works with it.
Your body isn’t made up of separate parts operating in isolation. Physical symptoms, emotions, stress, and past experiences are all interconnected, which is why a supportive, whole-body approach can make a big difference.
By working with your nervous system and helping to uncover underlying imbalances, kinesiology can enhance the effects of other treatments you may already be receiving. It’s about creating more harmony in the body, so everything else you’re doing has the space to land and integrate more effectively.
Whether you’re navigating physical concerns, emotional stress, or simply feeling a bit “off,” this approach meets you where you’re at—supporting your system in a way that feels aligned, gentle, and deeply restorative.
